Beware - Jesus will never walk in flesh again. After WW3 - rise of the “ man of peace“ from the East = Antichrist - the most powerful, popular, charismatic and influential leader of all time. Many miracles will be attributed to him. He will imitate Jesus in every conceivable way. Don`t trust „pope“ Francis = the False Prophet - will seem to rise from the dead - will unite all Christian Churches and all Religions as one. One World Religion = the seat of the Antichrist. Benedict XVI is the last true pope - will be accused of a crime of which he is totally innocent. "Arab uprising will spark global unrest - Italy will trigger fall out" "Many events, including ecological upheavals, wars, the schism in My Church on Earth, the dictatorships in each of your nations - bound as one, at its very core - will all take place at the same time." What is with Japan's obsession with this perfection??? That's more of a rhetorical question as I understand there is a market for 'perfect' 'fruits' but I am just amazed that the demand exists! This just shows that there are a lot of rich people out there that would love to spend their money on such trivial things!

It's because their land is very limited and they won't be able to mass produce any type of crop. Naturally you turn to pursue the quality. I was growing up in a Chinese farmer family. There are many kinds of watermelons, it’s pretty hard to determine what kind of watermelon is the best. It depends on the personal preference, more water, sweetness and so on. For Japanese watermelon, or it should say that it is not only watermelon but also other Japanese crops, they are more expensive in Japanese than in other countries. There are some main reasons- cultural factors and economical factors. First, the government and the society respect and protect the farmer, they think highly of that kind of spirit which is called artisan spirit. Second, as a farmer, the income mainly depends on the crops, so the government and the market will use many methods to control the price, using this way to protect the farmer and the artisan spirit. Actually, whether the watermelon is delicious or not, it will not be main reason causing it to be so expensive.

Now Asian sweet potatoes, on the other hand, is something I wish would be more widely grown and available here. Huge difference in taste from the sweet potatoes grown in the southern US (less fibrous and much sweeter - almost like a candied chestnut) and an absolute delight.

So it is black skin ( not really black actually it is dark green without line) And I wonder about the name " Japan black watermelon". Because I read news about this very long ago in Korean newpaper they had experiment many years and got good results. News said it is originally from Europe and they developed to better one for Korean people taste and it was a bit expensive. I think blackskin watermelon is grown in many countries nowadays.

Pretty sure there are common varieties that's been commercially grown for the consumption of the general public. But this ones are the fancy varieties that requires special treatment and production practices hence the price and it's target consumers are probably not those in the middle-class.

"$250 up to $6,000 each".. with $250 to $6,000 you can help and feed many families with serious financial problem, how much vanity there is in this world, how much indifference to our neighbor, greed and only greed i can taste, greed has become an art at great cost. Zen,Bushido etc.. The Japanese have to feed the poor children with these watermelons if they want to maintain what is left of their reputation.
