It is beyond me for the reasons anyone can have to dislike this video, they really want to live in a dystopian society as quickly as possible.

I arrived here to have a healthy conversation about why I can sympathize with those who disliked the video. See, in my mind, I associate Snowden with Julian Assange and I disagree with what Snowden released. More specifically, the way in which he released it. After a quick search, I realized the issue at hand was freedom of press, and Assange was "only publishing what was already released". I should clarify that I don't know much about Assange's case, but I do know that if he was hosting classified documents on his servers it's illegal at least in the United States. So while it may seem convenient to call him a publisher just publishing the facts, let's not quickly ignore that the documents shared on Wikileaks were often secret, classified, or some other very sensitive classification. I would ask Snowden or Assange why they felt compelled to share troves of data like that without consulting with their peers. Just because you hack something, and have the technical capability to exfiltrate and share the data, doesn't mean you should do any of it. A lot of systems we have in place are elaborate and complex, and, quite frankly, most of the public would be unwilling to understand the nuances in some systems. What gives someone like Snowden the technical, political, social and economic foresight to make a decision that no doubt altered the course of history all on his own? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the subject.

Yep. In about 200 years, 'they' will admit Assange was on the right track and that a great wrong was perpetrated against him, and they will say 'sorry'.
