The David Barsamian interviews have, for me as a millennial leftwinger (29 years old) become a cornerstone of education in alternative politics. Here is Noam Chomsky, in a busy era of his life. Of course, his beloved friend, Howard Zinn comes to mind....glad to hear the name Edward Said mentioned.... Barsamian for me is like watching a mixer of some great rock band from the seventies talk about a pivotal album, like Alan Parsons talking about his involvement in the creation of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon. This was a quality interview, and the friendship is clearly deep between these two devoted iconoclasts. Thank you to Alternative Radio, and it's good to see you guys here on KZbin.

It takes me back to my original reason for changing my name to Xeno on June 30, 1991: "90% of the American Public supports our troops in the middle east." was the GHWB propaganda, supplemented with bullshit about throwing babies out of incubators, and this delusion now seems like an embedded cancer not just of mis-factualizations, but of delusional mis-expectations of what the facts are, what they will be, and how to properly deal with fact parsing in a way which completely breaks down reason.

Sounds true enough and we can say this about other people in his high circles like Kissinger or McNamara. They make good professors. But. There's a reason why these people live a nice old ripe life and they serve a similar master in different ways but the psychological has definitely become more prominent in these ways. When people believe words despite having an opposite meaning the game is basically over especially if the public isn't intelligent enough to volley back and get away with it. Just add mind-altering psychedelic drugs and a galaxy of different ways to serve different addictions and see what that does to people's natural sense of self-preservation and joy and contribution. This here program is part of that programming. But it has to come to U*$ as help and news. What happens to the state of mass psychosis when heroes ideals and institutions all letting US down, too much, too long‽ I approach it like gardening in the yard. Helps to learn what really going on, but it's dirty business and can feel like a thankless job sometimes.

Noam Chomsky is not well informed on this point: 26:24 In germany, employees have a state-guarenteed minimum of paid amount of days that are the equivalent of 4 weeks/year in a full-time job. If you work 5 days/week, you get 20 days, if 6 days/week, you get 24 days. Some companies voluntarily offer a few more days in their contracts. But his information that it is 2 months is factually incorrect.

@@luperamos7307 Most jurisdictions have an immunization schedule that must be produced before the child can start attending public school, at least that happens in Canada. Some religious people, and others, opposed to vaccinations, perhaps home schooling or sending their kids to a "Charter" school, have not had their children vaccinated against Measles, TB etc and there have been outbreaks of these diseases in many places. Denial of science and "magical thinking" is putting us all at risk. Vaccines work. We don't have polio, diphtheria, smallpox, measles and other horrible diseases that used to be prevalent in the early 20th century. Now, with anti vaxxers not immunizing their kids, these diseases are reappearing.
