Nobel Literature Prize 2021: Abdulrazak Gurnah named winner - BBC News
The winner of this year's Nobel Prize for Literature says he thought the phone call telling him he'd won was a cold caller.
Luckily, Tanzanian novelist Abdulrazak Gurnah was persuaded not to hang up.
The Swedish Academy praised Gurnah for his "uncompromising and compassionate penetration of the effects of colonialism".
The prize is awarded by the Swedish Academy and is worth 10 million Swedish crowns ($1.14m / £840,000).
Gurnah, 73, is the author of 10 novels, including Paradise and Desertion.

He is not Tanzanian as Tanzania does not allow dual citizenship. He is a British citizen born in 1948 in what was the Sultanate of Zanzibar a former British Protectorate. He arrived in UK as a migrant teenager in 1968 to eventually become a British national. But maybe if he was "white" ( whatever that stands for in the USA definition of whitness) and born in USA as the PM than indeed he would be "British"? To be a British Nobel prize winner of Zanzibar and Yemen origine writing in English what is the winning formula? Please do clarify.

EXPANDING UNIVERSE.MENTIONED IN HOLY QUR'AN 1500 YEARS AGO ALMIGHTY ALLAH THE ORIGINATOR TO THE UNIVERSE AND CREATOR OF THE MANKIND Who can claim 1350 years ago that the universe is expending? والسماء بنينها بايد و انا لموسعون o " And the heaven We built it with power, and indeed, We are the expander " (And We it is Who make the vast extent, thereof ) (Qur'an, 51:47) Until 1931, physicist Albert Einstein believed that the universe was static. An urban legend attributes this change of perspective to when American astronomer Edwin Hubble showed Einstein his observations of redshift in the light emitted by far away nebulae - today known as galaxies. After Hubble discovered that the universe was expanding, Einstein called the cosmological constant his "greatest blunder." At around the same time, larger telescopes were being built that were able to accurately measure the spectra, or the intensity of light as a function of wavelength, of faint objects. Almighty Allah is the Creator of the whole universe.He says: Should He not know what He created? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. The knowledge of scientists is very limited and insufficient to understand the universe! ! Recently NASA launched JWST. This telescope will see the beginning of the universe and how it evolved. Today the scientists accepted that they know very little about the universe. DR.MOHAMMAD LAEEQUE NADVI Ph.D. (Arabic Lit.) M.A. Arabic Lit. Why is it not possible Mr. Gurnah is a descendent of Arabs from Oman who traded in slaves, or perhaps his people were from Persia/West India. The island was a crossroads for tens of centuries, but he's claimed by a continent? Remember, Freddie Mercury was born in Zanzibar. Abdulrazak left Zanzibar as a teen-ager, then spent the next 55 years or so in England. I'm happy for him, but the rest of the world needs some perspective, and not make up "wishes" about who he is.

@ab1858
@ab1858 2 жыл бұрын
Why do you call that spitting on his face? I am just helping Him do His job? His own Father did not give a shit about Him. Jesus cried on the cross "why have you forsaken me?". He accused His Father of forsaking Him. What a terrible Father!!! Jesus did not want to die for me. He said it clearly I do not want to drink this cup I.e. I do not want to die. What a terrible Son!!!! He begged His Father no to make Him drink that cup. His Father spit in his face and said yeh, this is my will , so shut up.. Why didn't the Father just say guys I love you so much that I am going to forgive you your sins. Period. And that's is that. Or simply , hey guys stop sinning otherwise I will punish you. It is more just to put the responsibility right at our feet, the sinners. The Father (probably you and not the Father) can't have it both ways.. claim that He loved the world so much He sacrificed His only Son to save us and then turns around and says sacrificing My Son is not enough. You better save yourseves by stopping sinning. If we have to stop sinning in order to save ourselves then Christ's death for our sins is a HOAX. Make up your mind. What saves you? Death of Christ for your sins past, present and future? Or you stopping sinning? Personally, I prefer to do my best and sin as little as possible and do as many good deeds as possible to cancel out some of my sins and beg my God for forgiveness and hope His Mercy and Grace is greater than His Justice, Anger and Wrath.
