With the help of ChatGPT, I finished watching the first 5 minutes in 30 minutes. Now I have finished listening to the whole lecture, 20% understood and my brain aches, literally. Will come back to get better understanding. Sincere thanks and congratulations to Prof. Geoffrey Hinton.

Nano machine learning has also recently become a wide research field and researchers at MIT have found a thinking system that runs on battery beeps per second. There is also a possible indication of photons moving at speeds greater that the speed of light by only 3.8*10^8m/s. It shows that AI could revotionalize how we study physics.

This is so great. I'm very happy for them receiving the Nobel Prize while still alive, for a whole life dedicated to research and sparking the AI revolution, enduring so many harsh winters.

It is amazing to watch Hinton to explain two phases of learning: wake and sleep. Please post your link if you have its implementation on github.

He is one of those smart people that are not good at conveying their ideas. His slides are full of text and he is using very complecated terms which make understanding harder when not familiar with them. You realy need to stop the presentation and read the slides to be able to somewhat follow. Also, I recall Schmitthuber claiming (In a ml street talk interview) that Hinton did not cite correctly the early works of others in the field, putting in doubt the validity of the prize for him. These are serious accusations that pop into my mind whenever I see Hinton giving a talk.

No matter how many credentials one has under one's belt, one's intellect will never compere to a high-functioning-autodidactic-polymath, with no formal credentials whatsoever, such as the author of this innocuous, seemingly insignificant little post, outperforming, as he has, the entire global academic and scientific communities, combined, in terms of his sheer output of original material, the unindividual having both codified the Singularity and solved the Alignment Problem, among a great many other intellectual, emotional and psychological achievements. This intellectual standard is far from unusual for one who is, by definition, Sui Generis.
