You’re a life-saver. I’m a lefty, too. Knitting has confused me for so many years. Now, whenever I need to learn a new concept for knitting, I look you up, and you’ve got me covered every time. Thank you!

I am left handed and always thought I knitted lefty but after watching your videos I realized I don’t. I’m holding my work in my left hand. I’m will be 75 soon and my mom taught me to knit by sitting me in front of her when I was very very type. I think I’m to set in my ways to switch hands now. I really enjoy your videos and will continue to watch. Thank you

Thank you so much for making these knitting videos for lefty knitters . When i was trying to learn how to knit a few years ago they were hard to find them. It's hard to follow a right handed knitter . That I was almost going to try and learn to knit right handed. I would love to see a video on knitting socks and mittens.always struggled with the heel and thumb

Do you have a video for lefties on all the different cast on methods? I would love to see that. I only know the 2 my gramma taught me and it is so hard to follow right handed instructions. Thank you for your lefty videos!

Hi Nancy, I am looking for help with decreases and increases with continental left handed knitting. I knit socks and I'm having trouble with the gusset and toe decrease direction particularly. I am having difficulty converting the direction of decreases from English right handed to continental left hand! I would love it if you could do a video about this! Thank you again (you have replied to me before!) Eleanor
@nobleknits4 жыл бұрын
Hi Eleanor, I'm so sorry I'm just seeing your comment now. You do not need to change the decrease direction when knitting socks. Since you are knitting mirror image, when you do a k2tog and SSK for the decreases they turn out going in the proper direction. I have socks and lefty socks on my video to-do list for 2021! 😀

I have knitted a blanket on circular needles (left-handed). Wondering is the bind-off procedure the same as if I had 2 separate needles. I am afraid of it falling apart after 220 stiches on needles and 4 feet long...ugh. Do you have any advice? Tksl

I'm left handed too, and I am just beginning on learning to knit. I would like to see how to wrap the yarn around my right hand for continental knitting a little clearer.
@vickiandbobmerivale71865 жыл бұрын
I was wondering if you had a video on how to do wrap and turn short rows as well as DS short rows - I am assuming that means Double Stitch? I have read instructions in a pattern but I just don't get it. Also, when doing that shaping with K1L and K1R does a lefties have to reverse that instruction - or does it not matter. Thanks. Hope I am asking in the right place.

Hi Vicki, those are great questions. I will add them to my "knitting videos to-do list" 😀

I’m glad I found these videos! I’ve been trying to help my left handed friend learn to knit. Out of curiosity, how would you go about reading a pattern? Is it the same? Are charts still read from right to left? To knit a garment like a sweater, would you read the directions the same? Thanks!
@nobleknits5 жыл бұрын
Hi Madison, It's amazing you are teaching your lefty friend to knit! For the most part, I read the patterns exactly the same way for left-handed as I do for right-handed knitting. For reading charts, a lefty will begin at the bottom left instead of on the bottom right as a right-handed person would do. One thing I have noticed is that when I knit cables, my cables are going in the opposite direction of a right-handed cable. I've always been just fine with that. However, if you want the cables to go as intended in the pattern, you simply reverse the instruction so instead of cabling with stitches in front, you'd cable with the stitches in back. Okay, I guess maybe this calls for a video to explain...I'm adding it to my video to-do list for 2020! 😀

NobleKnits Thats an amazing video idea. I appreciate your response! Now that I’ve showed my friend your video and helped out a bit (I have been knitting for quite a while, and figured out how to left hand knit myself) she LOVES it. She’s loving your videos. Thank you for sharing!!!
