I remember watching a Braves-Red Sox game on the Braves' network. The announcer kept calling him Deevers. For at least two games. This was maybe 2 or 3 years ago. That's how overshadowed he was even in 2021 or 2022. He is bad at defense though. Shame Yoshida is too. Devers could be the DH otherwise. It will happen eventually. He's not quite David Ortiz, but he could be close if he didn't have to play the field.

Devers is hit and miss defensively, but not outright bad. He'll make the impossible play, but sometimes boot routine plays. He's also a guy who's very hard on himself, so when he's in a slump, his D suffers.

Currently at 5 hr in the last 5 games. The starting pitching has been one of the best in baseball. Houck and Crawford are coming into their own for sure.
