It's literally the first year when I was down on them. Kept my season tix since day 1, will always support them, predicted last year they would finish second in the div, but this year thought they would 4th in the div and may lose out on the WC. Of course that was before the big #55 and #37 signing but still. Maybe the reverse psychology is working for me.

This is a really good explanation as to why the Jets are winning so much. Watching them this season compared to last season is a total breeze, they are finally playing the way they should. Last season, previous seasons there was absolutely no battling for pucks, no sticks in lanes, no back checking , the neutral zone was an acceleration zone for the other team. Finally, I am watching the team that I was always wanting to see
@Thumper19865 ай бұрын
This was great. I'm loving how easily digestible your breakdowns are. I'm a beer leaguer who started in my 20s, so I've never really had a coach. Even if our team will never execute anything like this, it's good to learn just to see things develop on the ice that might be exploited individually.

Everything Rick Bowness said after the Vegas series was spot on Even with the way it was that roster was too talented to go out like that I was convinced that they were going to blow it up. But after the big resignings and trading PLD I found myself with a bit of hope and I’m sooo happy that this team is rolling. Rick Bowness is a great coach and this team is playing some unreal hockey As a Jets fan I couldn’t be happier

Don't forget the buying out of Wheeler. Wheeler is an awesome dude and will go down as one of the best jets of 2.0. But he was a poor captain in the end and he just wasn't playing worthy of the top line space and minutes he was getting. Lowry is the perfect captain for the kind of hockey and players the organization wants.

OUT: Paul Maurice, Dubois, and Wheeler IN: Massive depth upgrade (Vilardi, Iafallo, Namestnikov, Niederreiter), Morrissey breakout from last year, renewed locker room where everyone wants to win, and a coach who holds players accountable and says what is needed to be said and not what people want to hear. This is why Im actually expecting good things from the Jets unlike other years where I couldnt jump on fully.

Jets vs Canucks is one of the most hyped games of the season to me. The Jets and the Canucks are currently the top 2 teams in the league and they’ve basically done it in opposite ways: Jets are winning by allowing the fewest goals against in the league, Canucks are winning by scoring the most goals for in the league. It’s straight up the Unstoppable Force vs Immovable Object game, I can’t wait for February.

I love these videos. They are great. On a personal level, I'd be really interested to see your breakdown of the Sens...well breakdown. Just be interesting considering the expectations were a lot higher and they continue to snowball in the wrong direction. Especially with the young core and the mental toughness being stated issues.
@Shanenator7775 ай бұрын
Great analysis as per usual. The way this Jets team is playing reminds me of my own Kraken in last year's play-offs. In particular, having four lines all capable of applying relentless pace and pressure along with a scoring touch (Sprong had 20 goals, remember?). That's a recipe that saw success, even against the defending Stanley Cup Champs and almost again in the next series. Throw in a stud goaltender and more star power across the roster, and suddenly the Jets' place in the standings doesn't look so suspicious. I think this is a team that can make some real noise come playoffs. Good for Winnipeg, good for the franchise.

The current Jets feel like the anti-Sens. They're coordinated, fast, and relentless, making them able to roll all four lines with confidence. Even when they make mistakes, they don't seem to panic and stumble over themselves like the Sens have been doing all season in their own end. Despite the struggles of my team, I'm happy to see success from the Jets and Canucks that we haven't seen in years!

And people were saying Bones is a bad coach. He's a defensive-minded coach, and if you can have all the guys buying into his system, these are the results you can get. It is night and day from last year, as the team defense is consistent. And one of the things that Jody Shelley said on the Blue Jackets telecast was the fact that the Jets are winning games the right way. Last year, even with the hot start, they were lucky in a lot of games and weren't winning them the right way. They won a lot of OT games, and there were numerous games where Helly had to make 35-40+ saves just to give the team a chance. The two Rangers games come to mind, where he had to make 41 and 51 saves. He was right on in calling out the team last year after getting eliminated. It was a pathetic effort put forth. I'd say they've responded. I was expecting this team to be a bubble playoff team. And to now be the first team to 60 points and having not allowed 3 or more goals in 31 games now is mighty impressive.
