What is so unique about the 1966 Falcon Ranchero? With Ford guru Jim Wicks!

The hotel wi-fi is pretty weak here and I had trouble uploading videos last night!
The 1966 Ford Falcon Ranchero is a unique car. It is a one year only car and it has some special features. Our friend and Ford Expert Jim Wicks found this one at Mecum Tulsa and pointed out some of the features that make these cars special!

Back in the mid seventies , I was living out in Denver / Lakewood Colo area. An old room mate had one of these 66 Falcon Rancheros, it was done up in the Ford ( call it pastel green ), with a 289 V8 under the hood. And NO rust, what a sweet machine it was!!

The south African Ranchero is based off the Australian ford falcon ute. I had a 98 Falcon ute

ALL 66 through 70 Falcons were 66 67 Fairlane based. Falcon wagons were Fairlanes with a Falcon front clip and simpler interiors, instrument clusters and taillights.

I agree, you are correct. This video made it sound like the 66 and 67 Ranchero had nothing in common.

@@2001rams they had almost nothing in common from the windshield forward except for all the understructure. Tee hee. Hand me a ratchet set and a Phillips screw driver and I can convert your 66 Falcon Ranchero to a 66 Fairlane Ranchero in no time at all. LOL.

@@danielulz1640 I know why they were different from the windshield forward. The video made it sound like they had nothing in common. Sure looks like they had the same roof and other understructure.

@@2001rams yes, identical bodies and under structure. Falcon wagons, and the Ranchero, were even on the longer Fairlane wheelbase.
