Yes, I too find that casual scene of Nobu talking to the swan very moving -- I am grateful to the filmmaker for including that footage. This show deserves more recognition worldwide, in my humble opinion.
i think this young man have an innocence enough to make any place he exist in full with positive energy, joy and life.

I love that scene of Nobu talking gently to the swan, wondering if the bird has come from Japan. I think Nobu might have been a little home sick at the time.

Its important for a fan of Rachmaninoff Wagner and Nobu to know what emotions he felt when he played those two fantastic instruments of the two maestros. He was very moved when he stood up. Please give us an English translation for us to understand. I am a pianist, I asked and touched the Boesendorfer that belonged to Johann Strauss, I felt a pulse go right through my body!
To play music of Wagner & Rachmaninoff on their own piano's (& wear his jacket) how inspiring that must been for Nobu for it was for me. Beautiful seeds planted for his future..

Away from Russia, where rye and white birch spread, Rachmaninoff stopped composing, but on the beautiful lakeside of Lucerne, the variations for orchestra and piano were born. The Andante cantabile was beautiful like nostalgia for Russia, and Mr. Tsujii's performance recreated Rachmaninoff's time for a while.

Mo. Rachmaninoff loved this villa dearly. For a very good write-up about the place, I recommend this piece => www.classicagenda.fr/villa-senar-the-latest-romantic-composer/
Hopefully, this will help you guys understand what Nobu says! 0:30: Hi, Mr. Swan. The water feels good, doesn't it? How are you doing? I am glad to see you! Where do you come from? I come from Japan. 4:30: I can't believe I am wearing the same clothes as Rakhmaninov! 7:09: His hands are huge! 7:41: Really? (→ Am I allowed to play this? ) I am so happy. 14:47: This is where Rakhmaninov played the piano. Just the thought of it makes me feel his greatness. He is a great composer and I admire him so much. I'd like to continue playing his pieces, because this whole experience will have a good influence on my feelings when I play them in the future. 12:00: They smell so good.

How are you doing ~ ? 0:35 - 0:37 Nobu: /is briefly talking to himself/ Ah...I can't tell you how happy I am to see a swan here today... 0:39 Nobu: /is talking to the swan/ Hey, Mr Swan, where did you come from ? 0:42 Nobu: Maybe...all the way from Japan ? 2:35 [ Natalia Rachmaninoff, the wife of Sergei Rachmaninoff's grandchild ] 4:27 Nobu: Gee...I'm wearing what Rachmaninoff used to be wearing. HIS jacket ! XD 7:33 Natalia: You can play 'anything' on this piano if you like. 7:38 Nobu: Can I ? Really ? Oh dear, I am so thrilled ! :D 10:47 - 10:51 Natalia: That was marvellous ! So glad I could help although...translation is not my kind of thing to be honest. Because I don't translate in my head - that I just think in English when I speak English and...when speaking Japanese, I think only in Japanese. ^ ^; So, when I need to do the translation, I try ( harder ) to do the code-switching in my head which helps A LOT. ^ ^

A BIG thanks to our Japanese friends who responded to our call and kindly provided translation for key dialogs. I have now added them as "caption" on the video. Please turn on "CC" (Close Caption) if you wish to see them. For our visually-impaired friends, the translation can be read on this page => mlliu2006.blogspot.com/2019/08/nobuyuki-tsujii-in-switzerland-2014.html
Yes, sorry about the mistake. I don't really read Japanese but I read some Chinese and initially that's what I thought, based on the Japanese subtitle displayed on screen :-) But if you turn on CC (Closed caption) you will see that corrected, after I learned from Japanese Nobu fans like you.
M.L.Liu, thank you so much for sharing great videos! I'd love to help you guys understand what the narrator and Nobu say, but to do that, it seems that you have to give your viewers a permission to translate the videos you've uploaded. There should be a certain way to do that, so if it's not too much trouble, could you figure out how to do it?
