NOCO NLP Lithium Batteries Require 14.6 Volt Chargers and Respect Max Charge Limit

Make sure you get a 14.6 Volt charger with your NOCO Lithium Power Sports battery so that you can charge it correctly. The older NOCO chargers have a lithium setting but it is only 14.2 Volts. Be sure to read your new battery and battery charger manuals to ensure compatibility. Max charge limits are listed below.

I'm not sure keeping a maintainer on this type of battery is necessary, (or even a good idea). I think I would charge it before storage, and then take the charger off of it. You might not even need to do that though, if you've been using the battery regularly. LiFeP04 batteries do not like to be stored at 100% SOC (state of charge), which is the direct opposite of lead acid batteries. LifeP04 batteries have a very low self-discharge rate can sit for many months with no ill effects.

How has this battery been? I've been using LiFePO4's since 2011, but never had one with internal BMS. And because of that, I've killed a couple due to letting them drain over the winter. This one's next on my list, seems to be the best bang for the buck.

the bike was stolen over the summer and eventually recovered so I didn't get much use of it, I actually need to charge the battery here to keep it good for the winter

Still can't get my noco 10 to charge my noco battery. Battery is now dead and only 8 months old. Not thrilled

If this battery required 14.6V it would mean you cannot charge it in the vehicle, or at least not in every vehicle, which makes no sense actually... Does your stator provide 14.6 to the battery? I doubt it.

can I use a regular battery charger to charge a noco lithium battery?

yes. The BMS is internal, you can charge it with a lab DC power supply if you want. You don't need a 14.6 volt charger...thats just silly.

Those noco batts are not lithium ion. They are lithium iron phosphate (LiFePo⁴). Be aware of the difference
