Build quality and support are top notch, I highly agree. Performance wise, also very very competitive, only a few fans are better from other vendors, but they don't have that Noctua support and very solid build quality going for them (but still good stuff). Nobody can do everything perfectly, but Noctua does a lot of stuff right.

Just to warn people that the instructions that comes with the kit show to use a screwdriver on the thumbscrews and say that to tighten them until they stop (and not to use excessive force), and in the video they tighten it by hand. Well I used a screwdriver like in the instructions and one of the screws from the mounting plate broke. Noctua were very kind and sent me a new kit immediately. @Noctua, if you are reading, thanks for the kit, maybe think about fixing the instructions because it can be misleading.

Thank you very much for your feedback, much appreciated. Using a screwdriver to tighten the thumbscrews is fine unless you exceed the specified torque limit of 0.6 Nm by a significant amount.

@Noctua - do you offer free already set for LGA 1851 ? I mean sets Noctua NM-M1-MP78 and Noctua NM-M1-MP83 ? Which one is correct for NH-U12S ?

All our LGA1700 mountings are compatible with LGA1851, so depending on when you bought your NH-U12S, it may already be compatible. We started to include LGA1700 mountings with this model in 03/2022. If you got the cooler earlier and it doesn't already have LGA1700 support, you could update free of charge using the NM-i17xx-MP78 kit or purchase the NM-M1-MP78: faqs.noctua.at/en/support/solutions/articles/101000432274-83mm-mp83-vs-78mm-mp78-mounting-pitch-which-kit-do-i-need-

Should you receive a cooler without LGA1700 parts, you can order the NM-i17xx-MP83 upgrade kit free of charge.

@@NoctuaVideos I just received an NH-D15 I ordered on Newegg. I placed the order on the 26th of January 2022 and it arrived today, the 31st. It does not include the LGA1700 mounting hardware although I ordered an i7 12700k that came in the same packaging! After reading all the info on your website about the kits now including the current hardware, I think this must have been a mistake or something. In any case, I sent a message to support a little bit ago. I hope to hear back soon as I'm very excited to build this PC but I need mounting bracket to continue!

It's Newegg's fault here for sending you an older one, when (based on the fact that you also ordered the cpu), they should've known you were gonna need the brackets. Thankfully Noctua sends them for free.

I know, its probably not entirely doable for every card out there, but something like Arctic is doing, except with Noctuas Design, build quality and performance, would be cool to see Appreciate the efforts tho ^-^

It says delivery may take up to two weeks but it's already been two weeks and my package hasn't even got to the US yet so probably going to take Noctua nearly a month to ship the kit at this rate. Guess you can blame it on covid but if your actually trying to get one of these kits then I suggest getting it anywhere from actual Noctua if thats even possible. I bought all the stuff needed to upgrade to 12th gen in late October and wanted it to all be built by like November 10th at the most but now this one little peice is completely stalling my build. Atleast there is a lesson to be learned I guess as I've been pretty spoiled getting all my stuff in the past usually completely delivered only within a couple of days in the states.

hi, i just bought a noctua nh-u12S for which the designed kit is said to be the nm-MP78. Inside the box of the cooler there is instead the mounting kit NM-IBP4,and over this kit is written LGA 1700. Should I buy from amazon the MP78 kit or will the kit i received work fine ?

Depends on the size of the CPU, for the very small ones like LGA1200, one drop works great, but for bigger ones like LGA1700 or AM4, 5 dots work better.

Hi people from noctua, i have a NH-D15 and want to clean it. Whats the best way? Is it good to get the fins in streaming tapwater and then immediatly dry it with a hair dryer?

0:53 Does that SecuFirm2 back plate fully stick to motherboard? I saw some gap between that and motherboard. Will it provide enough of support for larger cooler like D15?

It is designed in line with the Intel specifications, i.e. making contact with the stock backplate but not the motherboard PCB. The sockets of the struts do make contact with the PCB around the mounting holes in the area defined in the Intel specifications as well. Of course it is enough to support our largest coolers like NH-D15!

What about thermal contact? Alder lake's size are bigger than previous cpu's. Does Noctua coolers bottom fully covers cpu top when using this kits? Can't find any thermal prints or information about this anywhere

Thermal contact is good and the CPU is fully covered, our smallest bases measure 40x38mm and the IHS of the CPU is 37.8mm at the long axis.
