Nocturnal Predator - Hunting a Massive Brown Hyena

An extraordinary hunt at night after the elusive brown hyena will take us into hills of the Limpopo province of South Africa. A nocturnal animal that predominantly moves at night, the hunt will be conducted at night over bait, with the hopes of bringing the hyena in. There will be the possibility to see other creatures of the night such as the honey badger and genet cat. A unique and challenging hunt in the darkness awaits in pursuit of the brown hyena.

Yeah … a species, where all its individuals of the world wouldn‘t fill out a half stadium, aren‘t endangered … Did you ever imagine the numbers of the mammal human vs another similar sized mammal? Maybe 7.000 Brown Hyenas vs 7.000.000.000 Humen? This unbelievable high number of a mid sized mammal living on earth is absolutely sickened. they are not at all. regulated hunting has helped the population of the brown hyena due to the funds local farmers have received. before they were all eradicated due to conflict with livestock. prime example of how sustainable hunting has helped a very important species in africa .

Hey Josh, this was a combination of great trail cam and some new super light gathering lens my cameraman uses. There was a strong moon but the light was low. Glad you enjoyed the video.

Maybe you can make a video discussing how hunting some of the animals that might actually be endangered actually helps the species. A lot of people are probably quite confused by that.

Tightly regulated hunting is the key to protect and bring awareness to species that are not plentiful but you cannot hunt animals that are considered endangered. There will not be any legal permits for that. The key is to make sure they have value and never get there. We do have some videos of animals that are not common that have greatly benefited from sustainable hunting.

they are not endangered and i hunted with the proper licenses. they have become a great financial resource to the ranchers because of hunting and now they are not killing all of them

The brown hyena is thriving in the Limpopo province of South Africa. Like all predators , they need to be managed to keep them in balance with the other animals. We had 7 different baits and had hyena on all of them. They are doing very well thanks to game management.
