Kayn, Aatrox, and Varus are all just wielders of Darkin weapons. Nocturne is the literal embodiment of fear, and was so powerful he slaughtered almost every shadow mage who helped conjure him.

The thing is, the way the Shadow Mages used "Shadow Magic", differs from the way Zed and Kayne utilize it. I wouldn't assume that Nocturne will just be able to feast upon them, purely because Zed and Kayne (I can't say much about his other students) both move around using shadow magic themselves, so even if they can't defeat Nocturne, I find it likely that they will be able to avoid Nocturne's wrath. Additionally, I feel like an encounter with Nocturne could be interesting due to the presence of Raast.

What if Nocturne knows that Zed enters the realm everytime Zed wants to practise the technique, to the point where Nocturne has manifested itself to look alike like Zed (the similarities are uncanny). Since the shadow technique has been forbidden across Runeterra, during this time it is very likely that Zed has visited the shadow realm more than anyone else, hence why Nocturne chose to embody as Zed. Why they haven't met yet face to face thus far? Maybe because Nocturne got smarter - he's observing Zed (possibly to learn how to escape the shadow realm for good and maximise his feast) and doesn't want to make the same mistakes of not torturing his victims for long enough like he did before; which is also why he's 'hungry'. I haven't read these lores at all and basing my idea from just this video alone so I may be completely incorrect and missed out a fact that contradicts.

@@wunwunwunwun1999 oh boi its really long lore. It involves jhin and zed aswell but long story short: Zed and shen were both students under shens father Kusho who at the time was the eye of twilight. Then jhin pops up and gos on a killing spree. Kusho, shen and zed follow his trail in order to stop him. The hole thing traumatized zed (jhins victims looked horrific enough to traumatized a ninja) and when they finaly catch him Zed wants o kill him, but kusho dosent let him and puts him in jail instead. Some time later Zed kills master Kusho to gain access to a box housing forbidden shadow magic techniques, and shen inherits Kushos legacy as the Eye of twilight. You might have noticed that shen uses 2 swords. One is an ionian dagger to pass judgment of the living and the other a spirtblade to pass judgment on spiritual beings. Things like Noc, evelin, kench. Demons and such. His job as the Eye of Twiligh is to maintain balance between the human realm and the spirit realm. If a spirit passes into the human realm without a proper reason hi kills it. If a human passes into the spirit realm, same deal. Basicaly hes the police.

My theory: Zed came for the box of secret shadow techniques in the temple, where master Kusho invited him with open arms and laid down his weapon at zed's feet, after going in the temple master Kusho wanted to destroy the box and Zed wanted power from it so Zed used what little techniques he already learn from it to fight the master to get the box, and in using the shadow technique he opened the spirit realm, where nocturne saw a way out and was about to kill zed but instead the master took the hit because he loved his student. Nocturn decapitated master kusho, and fled into the shadows. Zed screamed in agony for his master, in rage, ordered his followers to kill everyone in the temple and take the box, knowing that shadow techniques are the only way to defeat nocturne. He studied all the hidden shadow techniques and trained his order of ninjas and anyone who is willing to give in to the shadows so that one day they will be ready to face "the eternal nightmare" (nocturne).

I remember when the Zed turns into Noc theory first came to be...I actually believed it for a bit (until I actually read both their lores and saw little to no connection) and was dissapointed by how similar it was to the thing going about in DoTa about how Mordred (Phantom Assassin) becomes Spectre after accepting an impossible mission by Oracle, that was to kill everyone who will kill, have killed, and are trying to kill him, thus giving her the spectral daggers, which we see in her Arcana skin, meaning that the base Mordred we play as is actuall her past self just before accepting the mission. Countless jumps in time and there you go, she loses her humanity aaand I actually love that theory. In fact, I loved the theory so much that the whole Zed and Nocturne thing kinda made me hate league lore (yes this was back when I still had the "my game is better than your game mind set").

I have one major grievance with noct “new”lore , previously he was captured by the league and forced to do their bidding because he went around killing summoners in their dreams (I know it’s an alternate universe now with the pulse fire ezreal retcon) but now why is a being locked in the spirit realm “in” the league of legends as a champion , he’s unknown to the world and intangible , how does he exist in the game if he can not exist outside the spirit realm

My own theory: Nocturne isn't Zed but a part of him. When Zed opened up and practiced the forbidden shadow practice, his former practice which was under the "Eye of Twilight" was devoured by the shadows and was the birth of Nocturne. Noc did say that he was "You" when the father asked him what he was, so I theorized what if Nocturne is Zed when he was still training in the practices of the Eye of Twilight.

I was more interested in the fact that shen also goes back and forth as the eye of TWILIGHT in a would if I remember shrouded by twilight from shadow magic. Is it possible Shen's magic has its roots in shadow magic?

3:40 zed could have already met nocturne when he went into the temple with his master and nocturne could have been or caused the cry that everyone heard from outside the temple just a theory but worth a mention

Yeah because zed came for the box of secret shadow techniques in the temple, where master kusho invited him with open arms and laid down his weapon at zed's feet, after going in the temple master kusho wanted to destroy the box and Zed wanted power from it so Zed used what little techniques he already learn from it to fight the master to get the box, and in using the shadow technique he opened the spirit realm, where nocturne saw a way out and was about to kill zed but instead the master took the hit because he loved his student. Nocturn decapitated master kusho, and fled into the shadows. Zed screamed in agony for his master, in rage, ordered his followers to killed everyone in the temple and take the box, knowing that shadow techniques is the only way to defeat nocturne. He studied all the hidden shadow techniques and trained his order of ninjas and anyone who is willing to give in to the shadows so that one day they will be ready to face "the eternal nightmare" (nocturne).

So... so... could the powers of shadows actually beat a darkin? Like... if Kayn (Zeds student) became shadow assassin. What would he even be? Would he just swap Rhaast for Nocturne as an entity haunting his mind? ...Because that sounds depressing.

Doubtful, Nocturne would just kill him. Also all we know currently is that the darkin we know of are completely immortal, mainly Aatrox though.

@@ManMan-tg2mw Good point. But, there are 5 remaining darkin (3 that we know of). The rest was... you guessed it, killed. But having Nocturne just kill Kayn and/or Zed would be just so anticlimatic.

@@kyrriana1772 Yeah, riot will probably pull something more interesting but with what we know currently Nocturne would just killed them all. As for the Darkin we know Aatrox at least is immortal or else he would probably be dead, so i'm just assuming that the other 4 are too. Though we know not all Darkin are immortal.
