@@alexjhorner such is the opportunity for a good engineering solution. You should do a Kickstarter for a really simple but powerful smart watch, with just a simple lcd showing the time, that's it. But it has thing like the nfc, sd card, and maybe a vibration motor hooked up to an electronic compass so it vibrates when you look north, button operated of course lol

That afterglow / luminous LCD background was a really smart ideal. And i always wondered why this was never really used more commonly before?
@hitmiccs
@hitmiccs 4 жыл бұрын
It's not lasting long and it's not bright enough after a couple minutes, additionally, the watch gets harder to read after you removed the reflective back foil from the LCD. The luminous foil has no reflective properties, so the LCD will look dull after the mod. It's even worse if you do it with inverted LCDs, although it looks cool for a couple minutes after charging under a bright lightsource.

You know when you first showed the Antenna i felt like you were showing a Induction or EMF energy harvesting method to power the watch without any batteries but just with the power from electromagnetic fields. Should be low powered enough to keep the watch running & also storing a little energy in a capacitor inside. That would be a really cool watch. A quartz LCD watch that could basically run forever without batteries. Kinda like the Solar powered G-Shocks.

I would sooo buy this. Either as a kit to modify my own F91w, or a ready to go mod. We use wireless access cards at work, it would be amazing (and probably against company policy) to clone the card and make it work through in this beauty.

Soon as I seen that microSD card I was thinking this madman was gonna turn this into some crazy micro computer, streaming Netflix at 144p or summit
