Noel singing Stay Young?!!! I'll die happy now. Even if his voice is rough riding here. You can really tell how he struggled with his volume back then. Either way it's an absolute gem.

I swear Noel is able to make songs that you couldn't imagine sounding good on an acoustic sound amazing on an acoustic, like Morning Glory for example.
@edsmithmusic9515 жыл бұрын
.....they were all written on an acoustic? Noel could imagine them being played by a band. That's the difference.
@MM-jn9ts6 жыл бұрын
Liam had a more powerful, interesting and beautiful voice when he was younger. But Noel always sang with more emotion. His acoustic renditions of his own material are always so ... touching. You could tell Liam never really tried to connect with the words. That said: Liam was the right singer for the band in his prime. His voice just.... had a sick snarky sneer. It was a voice for a rock band playing stadiums.
@flaviocastagnaro39124 жыл бұрын
I think Liam is perfect for gigs. Noel I think is perfect for acoustic sesions.

"Liam never really tried to connect with the words???" What a stupid comment
@RockinChairOnerb Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say Liam never tried to connect with the songs and their lyrics, check his rare version of Sad Song (or even his MTV one) he sings it with so much passion and emotion, even more than Noel's version. The problem is that he rarely sang acoustic versions so it was more difficult for him to sing with more emotion rather than more power, but sometimes he could brilliantly sing with both power and emotion like he did with Don't Go Away at Gmex 97' and other live versions. Liam is the power with some emotion and Noel is the emotion with some power (his Fade-in-out acoustic version is an example of it)

Typical Oasis: the B-sides and rarities are far better than the singles in the long run.
@matiasengelhardt30756 жыл бұрын
Well i think that's because oasis singles are more commercial than their b-sides, that's one of the reasons why wonderwall is more known than champagne supernova. More poppish, radio friendly, but not as great as the mentioned before.
@phenomenalone27015 жыл бұрын
@Francisco Adrián Cardoso Rodríguez yes, but The Masterplan was the B side of Wonderwall, but it definitely should have been a single
@badgasaurus42114 жыл бұрын
Matias Engelhardt I think in the 90s, bar Listen up on the cigs and alcohol single, that isn’t actually true.The single was always the best out of all those on the b side. Now should a lot of those b sides have been singles themselves, absolutely. The Master Plan and Acquiesce should have been singles
@kevanbrown76203 жыл бұрын
Their B-sides are almost always better than their A-sides, mostly because a lot of them are Noel and his acoustic guitar,I'm not a big fan of Oasis when they're full blast noise,I prefer Noel's acoustic demos.

Appreciate Noel's touching emotional acoustic versions of his songs as the next, you can really tell he wrote the songs the way he connects to and sings them so beautifully. To me though this is a perfect example of the kinda tune where Liam's voice really made Oasis, such a huge part of what they were. Picture Noel shouting this tune at at sold out Gmex 97 vs Liam.
