I read/heard somewhere that this song isn't about a person but rather a time. He was talking to his youth and realising it was leaving him. We had a new friend that was from out of country who would stay up all night with us playing this on his guitar singing Oasis in the grass while we got hammered on cheap beer! I agree with this - But as a fan, what made Oasis even more special to me was the songs that the regular listener wouldn't have a clue existed. These "hidden" B-sides are like 3 secret albums that hardly anyone knew about. Id rather not have the masses trying to butcher them and play them on the radio until they are hated.

Hell, it went platinum and was #2 in the US, it was #1 in the UK and sold eight million records worldwide. Most bands only dream of that. But you're following (What's the Story?) Morning Glory? man! That thing is one of the biggest albums of the 90s. One of the biggest English rock n roll records ever! 22 million copies sold worldwide! Now that is a big album.
