Phil sits down with Robb to talk their latest album “Kin”, legalizing weed in America, growing up in rural Tennessee, the death of his father at 10 years old, his mothers slow descent into crack cocaine addiction, why he stays sober, and how to channel the anger of his childhood into something positive with music.

Who would dislike this video? Amazing interview. Been following Phil since Whitechapels first album. Amazing person and would love to meet and chat with one day. Listening to him talk about his past made me identify myself in my darkest of times. Forever one of my favorite vocalists to this date.

@@KZbinsuckz976 Some people have a tougher time with that stuff more than others, there’s a lot of pressure on artists to give fans there fantasy experience with them and the artist is usually like “Im just having fun making music”. Phil’s gone through a ton, I understand not wanting to talk to tons of people all the time. But he’s VERY appreciative towards the fans, you just gotta approach guys like him very chill and casual

Sounds like Mayhem just turned into Knotfest. Metal is alive and well in the MIDWEST. The best place to have fans of your band. Come to the Armory sometime in Minnesota. 8k seat venue, will likely sell out. Check out what Deftones and Gojira are selling for a piece.

I'm not sure what it is but these musicians open up when talking to Rob. Maybe it's just that these guys are artists who bare themselves through music. The other Metal pods I've heard are mostly dudes talking about the good times, ECT. Rob must have been a priest in his past life.

I mean the random girl bashing someone thing can happen, it happened to one of my brothers. He pulled up in his car at a river somewhere (this is many years ago now around 2010?) And some random gorilla of a woman walked up and started punching him through his car window saying he said something about her nan? He didn't even know who this person or her nan were. I don't remember how he said it ended, I think he took off. He had mates in the car as well that just sat there and watched him get hit. Good friends..

I relate to the weed thing too man I don't like it much, when I'm high I'm just self conscious to the point that I don't enjoy it and can't even act normal but I feel like I have to, you know? I manage the acting normal part but my mind races and my heart races and it's just not a fun time. At least with alcohol it seems to just affect your motor skills, you're pretty much still yourself just a stupider, more annoying version lol.
