Noel Johnston book is great,.. highly recommended to those who want to use new sounds and to explore some of the vast inner-connections of modes and chords. It's easy to see that MR Johnston put a lot of time and effort in this book and the videos ...again this book is excellent !!

Hi Noel, thanks for sharing your visions of the phrigian modes I admit some of them are near from mine:For example I even often use minor phrygian on 7alt(b9,#9 and #5) without any preoccupation of the 3rd(whatever the tension between the thirds I like it) . When it comes to play lines I always considered minor phrygian more like an hispanic-sounding mode and other phrygian modes like variations of it,but they are so many harmonic possibilities for voicings, arpeggios etc too in other contexts...Phrygian is a way of life lol! It's rare to find someone who explains this mode like you did here, and some of your voicings are really cool👍Thanks again for your great work
