+Suburbannite Yep, seems like she would rather just be killed than have a chance of surviving the situation, and possibly saving others at the same time. Thats the mentality that refuses to arm teachers or have armed guards at schools. It just doesn't make sense. Yet they do nothing about it other than propose new laws that wont prevent anything. Meanwhile school shootings keep happening with no one there to stop them.
@timb839 жыл бұрын
+Dan Murphy More guns does not answer the problem either, it exponentially complicates and worsens it. Training solves the problem (when we're talking about reacting to a threat). Rule #1:You don' NEED a gun to defend yourself. Rule #2:You don't NEED a black belt to defend yourself. 99% of that 1% threat can be dealt with by running away, hiding, forfeiting personal property. And in a majority of the remaining .001%, when you're truly in a corner, offering any kind of resistance (even playing dead) will suffice. Un-trained, un-disciplined, armed response to an attack is just asking to fill more body bags, not fewer. Sure, have your gun, but if you want to carry it around in public be proficient. The police need to regularly qualify to carry, why shouldn't the rest of us (that carry)?
@Dan_Murphy9 жыл бұрын
Tim Barton I agree, teachers should be required to train if they choose to have a firearm at school. However, I don't think running away has helped any of the students that have been killed in these shootings. Its a shame that they didn't have someone there with the proper tools and training to protect them. Weather it be a teacher, or an armed guard. I honestly don't understand the thought process of not wanting someone to shoot back at the criminal potentially ending the situation and saving countless lives. At the very least, they would be buying time for the students to get away by drawing the fire upon themselves. Its common sense. Either you shoot them, or they continue on their shooting spree.
@timb839 жыл бұрын
An FBI study of all (reported) active shooter situations from 2000 to 2012 concluded that the vast majority of casualties occurred after an initial bust of violence. A crowd of people is not a challenging target, however a crowd scattering in many directions is. Rather than the entire group to choose from the shooter must choose which clique to follow to minimize their field of fire. I'd argue the ones that ran lived. The ones that froze, or didn't have enough time to react are the victims.

We wear seat belts (other than it being law) in case there's a collision. Many of us have fire extinguishers in case of a fire. Many of us keep first aid kits in the house and/or car in case we need one. Why is gun ownership ostracized in so many circles? Why should I not be able to fight back in the face of deadly force brought against me? I choose to be prepared, because should that 1% scenario arise against me, I want above statistical odds that my wife will still have a husband at the end of the day.
@lydellb9 жыл бұрын
+KainzMusic I try to tell people this exact same thing and people dont understand. I have never been in an incident where I NEEDED my seat belt. But I put it on every day. I wear a helmet but have never been in an accident on my motorcycle. I keep these things in case I need them.

I own guns for many reasons. I like to collect different firearms, I have them to defend me and my family. I absolutely love to target shoot, and plink in the back yard with my family. But the real reason we have the second amendment and the right to bare arms, is to level the playing field. To defend ourselves against a tyrannical Government, and I suggest we all get ready for the fight. And trying to explain our rights to these liberal hippies, isn't working and is a waste of valuable time. Instead of trying to talk sense into these sheeple, we should be planning for the fight that they are starting. I would also like to say that we gun people are not violent people, but when backed into a corner we will fight.

One of my friends recently found out I carry. I stayed the night on her couch and I put my firearm in a place I knew it was readily accessible. Caused quite the conversion. She didn’t really agree with carrying but she also knows I’ve been in two separate situations where I wished I had it with me both times while crashing on a friends couch so she understood my desire to carry. Her boyfriend actually made the comment about how if he could afford one he would carry to. That caused a rather interesting conversation within itself that played out very much like some of the ones here. People have a hard time getting their minds out of their experiences and into others till they themselves live it

My girlfriend lives in a gated community with two other room mates. She always asked my why I carry (Glock 19) where ever we go but never had any problem with it. Untill She realized I would take it to her apartment. She would give me sass about the safety of the Neighborhood and nothing will ever happen. One night we hear ruckus out front, its her room mate getting into an argument with a guy she has been seeing ( who may have drug issues) . She Immediately Starts to develop anxiety and becomes scarred. I comfort her and take out my Glock 19 from my pack and set it on the nightstand. The MOMENT she saw i brought my firearm, she became more relaxed and felt safe once again. Nothing happened thank god but at that moment we could have been involved with a 1% altercation. She would never again question as to why i carry and infact encourages it.

No one is coming into your house. I was talking to a guy from work about the same thing. He asked why I need to have a gun I told him in case someone breaks into my house I want to be able to defend myself and my family. He asked is anyone ever tried to break into my house I said no and he said no one will ever break into your house so you don't need a gun. I live 20 miles out of town it would take the Sheriff about 1/2 hour to get out here. I asked him why is me have a gun going to hurt you in anyway? He actually said this: What if someone breaks into your house and steals your gun then come to my house and shoots my family.

5 armed men broke into my house and yelled that they were going to kill all of us. They were not interested in robbing us, they could see we had nothing of value. They had murder on their minds. I responded by picking up a weapon and forcing them to leave without hesitation. Only reason why we are still breathing. Never found out why they wanted to kill us. Might have been because we were poor. Might have been because one of my roommates was black. Might have been because one of my roommates was gay. Might have just been for sadistic kicks. For whatever reason it happened to us and it happens to others.

So, the common underlying theme with the interviewees seems to be that: they've never fully thought through a need fora gun scenario which usually leads them to a "I don't need it for X and y reason", "if it happens it's up to God", or the "I ain't getting in no western shoot out" response. And, quite honestly, a lot of people should not own a gun especially if they aren't going to invest the time and effort to train with it (as it would be like going to a marital arts class and never practicing). But the morale of the story is, if you don't want to have & train with a firearm, that's fine and your choice. But don't take that choice away from me.

Our neighborhood was a very middle class neighborhood with very little crime, the most crime in our entire town is just drug (particularly marijuana) related, and our town in general has an extremely low crime rate. Yet it happened to us more than once. I hate it when people use that argument against someone like me, when I could have died from that break in and just happened to be lucky enough that the guy was intoxicated and wasn't able to get to any of us.

People freeze it happens. Or even if he does not freeze what if he turns down the wrong street because his GPS is on the fritz or something. Maybe we should pass a law Requiring you Have a Gun! They have laws requiring me to Have Auto-Insurance. After all I'm not going to have an accident!!! Why should I be required to have Auto-insurance? And then it happens!!!Passing a Law which Ban's Guns is like passing a LAW banning Auto-insurance. Get real!

+C Kim There's a town in Georgia that actually has a law on the books that requires it, but it isn't enforced obviously. I can't remember the name of the town, but I know the law dates back to its founding.

JZStudiosonline well being that they saw my gun they backed off before trying anything, it would have been hard for me to explain why I blew their asses away. Also I didn't see any weapons in their hands. It was that there was about 6 or 7 of them approaching my vehicle. I would have been happy to have put their asses in a some five door cadillacs with pretty curtains. But I had to keep in mind that I'm the the good guy and had to follow proper protocol.

trying to talk to a anti-gunner about guns is something I stopped doing a Long time ago. I just say, fine, you're anti and I'm pro gun. would you like a coffee? but then I live in europe where having a gun automaticly puts you in the right wing nut case corner.

It's so scary to see so many people willing to place their personal ability and right to defend themselves up for grabs. Bad guys do so love easy prey. Thanks to folks with the most prelvelant view in this video, there's sure to always be plenty of easy pickings for the plucking.

Great video! We all rationalize, minimize and deny about all sorts of things. Wheather it's poor eating habits and increasing the risk of cancer, driving fast and increasing the risk of crashing, or walking around without the ability to defend ourselves...whatever. I think we become wiser people when we are able to see through our own BS and make changes.

I love this seasons episodes. it really shines a light on the ignorance of the anti-gun crowd. I am very lucky to live in a rural area that is very pro 2A and many if not most own firearms and hunt and a lot carry. so I have little interaction with "anti's" and I constantly an astounded by the level of ignorance of the topic. I am always appreciate the elderly or disabled argument that throws them as if they never even considered that population as a possibility. Thanks and keep up the good fight

I agree with you 100%. and the crazy thing is, the one's that say "I'm safe without a gun," are the ones who suddenly get onto guns when there's be a moment in life where they were not safe. And the guys with guns are just like, "I told you so."
@Soldier4USA20057 жыл бұрын
Exactly. It's like someone saying they don't like a food, yet they've never tried it. Then when they DO try it, they can't get enough of it. Allowing ignorance and FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Disinformation) to dictate your life, is NOT a healthy or safe way to live.

Not sure how I have not run across this channel before. Big thumbs up! I have never been LE (took a skilled trade profession) never been Military (would die for my country, just not any US gov. since I have been of fighting age). As such, I know, as much as I train, I will never be an "Operator" hope I am never in the position to use any training or courses I am familiar with... But I believe firmly, sic vis pacem para bellum!

I absolutely love these videos! You're bringing out the ignorance in these anti-gun people in such a well argued way that they might actually learn something and not just fight back. I live in the EU and things are getting really ugly here with masses of refugees "settling" in and i can't have a gun to protect myself with. Street crime has gone up significantly in Southern Finland this year. I work in the security business and have to deal with potentially dangerous people every day and the only "weapon" (as it is classified in Finland) I can carry is a god damn pepper spray. And even that requires a permit! Police respond times outside cities are often more than 30 minutes because there are no local police stations due to lack of funds. The same funds are being used to house the incoming refugees. The stupidity of our lawmakers is just sickening.
