People are ALWAYS slagging off the interviewers. Fucking always. There's nothing wrong with how this guy acts, he's just a normal bloke. On top of that, he actually asks interesting musical questions I'd never thought of asking. I never knew Better Let You Know was a cover of a house song. That's so cool. Something like that would have never come up in a regular interview. This interviewer clearly knows how stuff so he should be respected for that alone.
@bertyboy10309 жыл бұрын
+Deathshuck and Strictly Casual ... I totally agree with you both too. If you want to see Noel in an entertaining light, watch Jonathan ross or Graham Norton interviewing him (both very funny too) but this guy asks about thing that Noel probably respects and relates to the most. I also like how the interviewer allows ample time for Noel to talk without interrupting which many other interviewers annoyingly do. Respect to this guy, I came away from it enlightened on some things I didn't know about and that's pretty much what interviews are all about.
@camcoop259 жыл бұрын
+Berty Boy People like Jonathan Ross and other TV folk interrupt because they have so little time to play with. With this sort of interview, they just roll tape, and later cherry pick the best bits. It achieves much more relaxed and honest results.

Shields wouldn't do it. He doesn't seem too interesting and also boring. I just want to see him display his guitars, the tunings and how to get them, and his pedalboards. My first pill was a White Dove…a Super Love Dove no less. £20 a pop, and the dealer asked if I’d ever taken one. I said yeah but not many, but he said take half, they’re stronger than anything back home (in England). Me being me, just turned 17, popped the whole pill, and was a bit of a dodgy come up and went to the toilet in the bar we were in. Was panicking, then my mates, 4 out of 9 who partook in it, banged on the door, I opened it with them all past the come up, all massive smiles and that just triggered an overwhelming sense of euphoria and togetherness. Never forget that feeling, and visual. Was Summer 1994. BCM had the best DJ’s in the world. Even Boy George had a residency or two, but not that fortnight.

jason wier In London/South East the first ones coming over were the Yellow 'burgers' or Callies as they were called - probably because they were still legal in Caliifornia up until 1986 - high quality and expensive. Never heard them called New Yorkers - might be a regional thing I guess
@jasonwier2509 жыл бұрын
***** Yeah it must a regional thing, because if you ask anyone over 40 and knew the score then mention yellow New Yorkers you get that look!! If you got 1 for a score you had a touch, i remember being in gaffs and they would go for triple the price because only 1 person had them, i remember burgers but they were different ones up here.The last time i had a pill was about 5yrs ago,5 of them to be exact and the biggest rush i got was standing up to fast, i am a bitter oldish man!! Did you have clear window panes down there fuck me they were strong 12 hours of solid tripping
@RollrightKnights9 жыл бұрын
jason wier yup - had those a few times - regular blotter was usually £2.50-3.00 - windowpanes were £5 - and for very good reason - the guy we bought them off was like 'try a quarter first' and he wasn't wrong.............jeezo.......talk about looking at the palm of your hand and actually seeing the sweat start to form within your fingerprints! ha ha!
@estebancomulet3 жыл бұрын
It's funny - usually tracks 6 and 7 on an album (if one is a really cynical musician) are where you typically dump your filler (NG has said as much himself, albeit advised by his record company) If you're truly great, there is no filler, it's all excellent. Yet on this album those tracks are The Right Stuff and While the Song Remains the Same, IMO the greatest tracks he's written as a solo artists, and arguably two of the greatest he's ever done. They are poweful and elevating. Got the same off those as a 30-something music snob that I did as a naive 13-yr old boy listening to Champange Supernova (a microwaved Dear Prudence). Was genuinely impressed - glad he started to do the Right Stuff on the last tour, rather than let it languish in filler track purgatory. WTSRTS is also a banger - notice he's done it in solo sessions a few times. Deserves to be aired more. Also liked Riverman and Ballad of Mighty I (frankly for me songs like in the heat of the moment and Dream On are the needless filler). Ironically, I thought the songs on the david holmes album, Who built the moon, trumpeted as a giant leap forward, just sounded like New Order-lite. And if your idea of progressive pop is New Order (in 2021) that's pretty depressing. More like those two please - and Chasing Yesterday in general - the kind to satisfy BOTH Oasis fans (for their nostalgic sensibility and power) and more eclectic, cerebral music fans, who also just like a melody damnit. Incidentally, Dead in the Water and the man who built the man were the best tracks off that lackluster last one.
