Tracey Thorn is one of the greatest songwriters of all time - she's so underrated and you can tell she's incredibly smart - Every time I think about who are my top artists, I can never choose because I like too many, but Tracey is always up there on my list - her deadpan melancholy, as she put it, is something that I really resonate to, having been born in 1990, I didn't quite get to experience her beginnings but I do remember Missing when I was about 6 years old and it reminds me of those times in a weird way haha - I just love that no matter what she does, I always want to hear more and that's rare to find in an artist.

This woman's voice is incomparable. Tracy Thorn is the most unheralded person in the secular music genre of the 90s and all things she's sung have resonated in my mind to be unforgettable. She is a master in the truest sense of the word. Corcovado is her finest work imo

Missing has been one of my favourite songs for years. Not just a great dance song, but an amazing song. And it holds a special place in my heart because it introduced me to the fantastic musical world of EBTG and of course the legendary Tracey Thorn.

Missing is timeless and ageless. Relevant today as it was back then. I am not able to date this song unlike some others, for example. 60's rock. 70's rock. Fairly easy to define but Missing is a lot harder to pin down. One could assume somwhere between 1980 and 2020 based on the semi disco beat and choice of instruments. This song actually inspired me to pick up the bass. I play guitar but i want to play bass now. The baseline in this is very simple, but lovely, and it bounces around like a happy child. Tracey has stage freight. I have people fright. I could never ever for the life of me go into some large music venue with tons of people where my favorite musicians are playing. So sadly i missed out on a lot of music. Missed neil young. Missed oingo boingo. Missed joe satriani. Missed depeche mode. Missed the cure. Missed santana.I am currently in some, probably, unhealthy missing binge. Over and over again. It is just a lovely, lovely song.

I love it so much when somebody who's really F-ing great is just so understated and classy. I discovered EBTG too late. I still kick myself for this. I was in a Virgin Records in London in 93 buying the Republic CD by New Order and Ben Watt & Tracy Thorn were there signing & chatting with anyone who was on line that bought their new CD Home Movies but I didn't know their work and it was such a missed opportunity. Love the Temperamental album . Maybe the most under rated female vocalist of my lifetime

I first heard Tracey Thorn on a Style Council track and I was instantly mesmerised and found that she had her own group EBTG......so I was hooked there and then.....she is intelligent and down to earth, and that whole vibe of hers transcends many genres.......I am glad that she made the most of her superb skills as a wordsmith.....she is a brilliant example of the talent that came out of the British pop scene explosion in the 80's......I feel totally blessed to have been part of that discovery....you just had to have been there as words cannot do justice to what we were lucky enough to see and hear being birthed!

W.E.A. could have been a bit daft about E.B.T.G.. Howie Klein turned me on to them, then the flood gates opened. "The Language of Life" was an Iconic album for me. Still so many moment making songs on that release. I went backwards and forwards with her catalogue of work. Her voice and tone is timeless. "Paris Match", I'm at that cafe, I'm at that bar, smoking my every cigarette. Timeless! At a decade plus- middle-aged male. (no longer in radio) It would still be an add straight to Heavy Rotation.
