The pair met to discuss hard hitting topics that ranged from newly minted sobriety to bulldozing guitar riffs to kale and cholesterol, taking many stops in between. I used to see Matt a lot in Oakland when I lived there. I have to say he's one of the nicest dudes around. No rock star persona B.S. I saw him the day that he was on his way to rehab. He bought an acoustic guitar from my store and seemed excited to start a new chapter.

before my old band (theHeartland) went on our first tour I worked at a detailing shop called Buckeye Nissan. Every time we'd get a new truckload of cars, which was a couple times a week, the first thing i'd do is take them to the Speedway gas station up the block and fill up the gas tank with a company card. So I got a speedy rewards card and every time I filled up a car I got points....long story short I kept 7 dudes hydrated and fed for 43 days on JUST speedy rewards points hot dogs, tornados, and fountain pops. it was awesome and terrible

I watched this interview when it came out and they're some of my favourite guys. I loved hearing their stories, but this sucks because I'm an alcoholic and I've tried since before this interview to quit and I just can't seem to get over my problem. I've tried to kill myself, I've wished myself dead, I've broken down more times than I thought was possible. I want this to be over but I can't seem to go more than a month before I just reset back to being a fucking alky.
