Today's news shocked the car community. It devastated the Nürburgring community. But what it did to Sabine's family and friends - none of us can even imagine. Due to the latter, we have decided to limit our expressions publicly towards this topic for the time being. The reason I'm mentioning it here now against my will, is to avoid some of you who follow me on this channel only, to think that we are ignoring it completely.

Hey, instead of water dillute a bit of dishsoap(dishsoap is a degreaser, don't use WD40) with warmish water and try with that, that way not only the dirt will be cleared but the grease what comes with the dirt as well. Notice how braking performance will improve on an used car that had not this done for at least a year, mindblowing. :D

Tire prices and sizes are something I have followed closely after owning a 335 with runflats (almost $3000 US for a set back in the day, and they didn't last either). My WRX can get a set of P4S for around $750 installed. Was looking at the Model Y for my wife recently, and was so pleased to see the 19" tires for it are super reasonable, less than $900 US for a set installed. When you're young, it's so easy to just ignore the tire maintenance costs when buying something, but I quickly learned that lesson.

Nice, auto-wet-sanding pads. Both should be flat, both are friction-based, so it makes sense that you can use another pad to sand it. Also, Robert when it comes to speed bumps: take it slow, there's no need to unnecessarily jar the entire suspension when we do thousands of laps. MIsha: FULL SPEED, slight brake, POWA!

@alexmat1063 жыл бұрын
Most of the noise is from deposits on the pads so it's standard procedure to clear the muck that collects on them. It's usually because the pad is harder than the discs. Grooves help with clearing the surface of the pads. Also if you thrash them a few times they do stop squealing

WD40? Are you mad? That runs off in no-time! I use high temp copper grease. Just a thick layer, directly on the disk. No need to disassemble anything either. Plus, strangely enough, the pads last a lot longer. I did 250kkm and I'm still on my first pads. Extra bonus, I never been rear-ended either! Downside: I rear-end a lot of others. I think rubbing the brake pads together is to remove the old brake pad deposits that stuck to the new pads.
@Torchedini3 жыл бұрын
Or remove unevenness from the pads. You could do it with sandpaper too. but both pads on each other also works fine. And saves you some sandpaper. Brakes are just 'sandpaper' trying to grip a moving disc. If you ever need griptape just wrap sandpaper with doublesided tape on inner ends and you destroy your skin before the grip goes.

Hey Misha! Tell this/Show this to George! Dont spend your time to sand all 4 rotors both sides thats 8 times sanding lot of time! What is the reason the wet line is on the outside of the corners? I'd say that that would give you even less room for error, but I'm probably wrong :P
@wallymcguire20333 жыл бұрын
The short answer is there is a lot of rubber put down on the track on the normal dry racing line and it becomes very smooth. When it gets rained on, that surface becomes very slippery so there is more traction to be found by moving over onto the cleaner coarser pavement that isn’t used in the dry. The extra traction more than makes up for loss of room for making mistakes, although it’s harder to watch on camera it feels better to the driver.
@sjorsangevare3 жыл бұрын
