The “Spiral of Destiny” mode is pretty fun. It’s completely removed from the gacha-side, & let’s you play a slightly more traditional srpg with pre-set characters & progression separate from the gacha stuff. Give that a try if you’re not really into the stamina system, pulling, farming & such.

Some are expensive as they basically force you to spend money or else grind for a thousand hours before getting anywhere. Since I never spend any money, not even a penny, some games never get finished. The ones I do finish, I spend hundreds of hours on it.

Yes its a pretty decent game and i am enjoying it... to an extent because when i found out you cant recruit the unique characters in the story, it really hurt my willingness to continue to play. In order to reliably play a unique character you like in the story, you have to have gotten them in the gacha and then when starting a campaign you can only bring 3 of them. I havent beaten the game but i have the impression that a character that seemed cool in the beginning of the game, Edda, you cant recruit her and she is just like a cameo to make you attached to her gacha pull. I thought this game would be more akin to fire emblem or other jrpgs where you can recruit a bunch of cool characters but this doesnt seem to be the case. It makes a pretty promising story feel like a glorified ad for the gacha characters. That might have been too harsh of a statement, but finding out that most unique characters are playable in the story as a short couple of battles trial freaking sucks. Plus the skill system acquisition and character abilities in the story are incredibly neutered in the story mode when compared to the gacha side. Sorry for the rant but no video has even hinted that you wouldnt be able to play all the unique characters in the story and i think that is important information

It is missing context. Like why does the main character fight in the prologue then suddenly without explanation (from what I can tell) he just doesn’t fight anymore. I don’t understand why any of that happened, and it seems like a lot of small details are missing story wise that doesn’t get any sort of explanation. It’s the only problem I had with the story.

Yeah, that was a bit weird, but I guess they took the idea that he's commanding units, like the king piece on a chessboard, rather than being an active fighter? Of course, all he's able to do in the prologue is a basic attack and a minor first aid heal on a teammate, so it's not like he was significant in the prologue either.

I thought it looked interseting but the gacha element kinda killed my enthusiasm (similar to tribe 9). However to give credit where's it's due it does look like it can stand out a bit in the sea of other gacha games, so good luck to them I suppose

The moment I hear 'mobile' I'm out. If the game is good, I'm already grieving when it will inevitably disappear. If it's bad... well then it's just bad. Better to not invest time at all. (for me at least, this is not advice or anything).

This game looks so pretty I could imagine myself buying a full priced version. Unfortunately the gatcha/energy system has killed any interest I had. I hope the art team gets to make use of their talent for a full game someday.

I played like a week, enjoyed it very much and already have 8 5 stars, 3 of them are given to you for free. I didn't pay anything. And the free to play units are great, even common ones

I'm not against gatcha as long as the percentage of pulls is fair/not too expensive or the game is actually...good. I mean, Genshin Impact is all gatcha and people love it because its done right. This is definitely one I'll check out. Love my SRPGs.

You should try the spiral of destiny which is the traditional side of this game without gacha aside. Also compared to many gacha games, this one is fairly generous

I don't really see myself playing it (not a fan of gachas), but it's certainly pretty to look at and it's nice to see female characters that have clothes similar to those of male characters. The music, of course, is good, too.

Tried this during Steam Next Fest, and I'm avoiding this. I don't want to fall into another gacha game. It was very hard putting the controller down to Gundam Battle Operations 2 and Genshin Impact. Consequently, I can enjoy other games now because of all the time that freed up.

For those griping about the gacha system, it's only relevant for a part of the game. The Spiral of Destiny is the main single player portion of the game that is completely separated from both the gacha and the energy systems.

Very little of my critique really had anything to do with the gacha itself, and I myself play several of these games on a daily basis. It's not a matter of impatience, it's that the game's story is just okay and the characters don't stand out. This isn't Star Rail; I like Star Rail lol

gachas are the most expensive titles on games, when people complaining that games would costs 70-120$ on release, and a gacha is "Free to play" the truth is after a year if you play that gacha you most likely spent more than 100% already🤣, hard pass
