Yea i grew up with fucked up parents has well and it’s weird to me seeing family’s that have a good relationship lol. My mom hitting me and verbally abusing me became the norm. She also allowed her boyfriends to beat me and my little brother. My dad want around to care until I was 16 and then he moved me in with him. It didn’t work obviously because he abandoned me when I was four and didn’t come till I was 16 but it was still better then being with my mom. I got kicked out of my dads when I was 17 and then was homeless for a short period of time but eventually got “adopted” by a family freind and have had a great life Since then. I truly believe that true family has nothing to do with blood just relationships and trust.
