id pick nokia over any one of those Chinese manufacturers sure the specs may be worse but I feel like nokia would respect user privacy more than xiaomi huawei oppo or even one plus to an extent. Plus stock android

HMD needs some streamlining to do; they should just concentrate at making one perfect budget entry-level phone, say an improved version of the 2series... and then one mid-tier phone... a value-priced version of the pixel A-series, strictly competing only with this pixel phone series. Nokia is just a mess with too many android models to support now and into the near future. imo their android one updates aren't timely, BUT if HMD were just able to roll out those updates within 48hrs of google sending out the necessary update files to the android one manufacturers... they would be able to separate themselves from the android pack. AND, if they also shipped these two units with more inexpensive, but DURABLE material(not the fancy, brittle premium stuff others like to market)... that would also greatly fall in their favor to regain market share again.

Thanks for reviewing this phone and completely agree with just about everything you said. I don't know what Nokia is doing releasing way too many phones a year all with Android one and they're obviously way behind on system updates. I did purchase the Nokia 2.2 when it was released last year to give Nokia a try and finally received Android 10 update last month. It has been receiving monthly security updates as all Android one phones should be but performance on the phone isn't all that great. I wouldn't personally recommend it. So the fact that this newer Nokia 2.3 is already behind on updates is not a good sign and not worth that price for the specs when it essentially has the exact same specs as the previous Nokia 2.2 but with a bigger screen and 2GB Ram vs 3Gb. 👎

You're on point about Nokia updates. I have Mi A1 (android one device from 2017) and Nokia 2.2 (Android One device from 2019). Xiaomi security updates are timely. Just a week ago (May 22) they pushed May 2020 security update to it. Meanwhile, the 2.2 is still stuck on March 2020 security update.

I would rather push a customer around this price range to go to Walmart and buy a 100 dollar new iPhone 6s for double the performance and entry level iOS experience (iMessage/top tier security) Yes the screen to body isn’t near as good as this phone but for 30$ less you’ll get a MUCH better performing phone. The camera/video recording is solid. Also it’s on the newest software and is rumored to also be getting iOS 14.

My wife got through an 8 hour work day with her 6s for an entire year. Ya when your staring at your phone for hours on end it will burn through it pretty quick. I’ll trade some battery life for everything else you get for $100. Go ahead and gripe if your spending 300-500 and getting horrible battery life and bad performance but for what your paying you get a lot more than what you’ll get with the Nokia.

Theres like 10 phones with this same design by Huawei,Samsung,Xiaomi,Oppo,Motorola,Umidigi,Ulefone,Oukitel,Honor, etc etc best payinng the extra 50 bucks and buy an iPhone 7 yes it looks old but the cpu is like 3 times faster and iOS is a lot smoother than Android plus you can play PubG or Fortnite no issues on iPhone 7

Bought 2 of these heaps of junk as the first one in a week had frozen screen and couldn't receive texts/ picture messages so sent back to Vodafone who sent another and within a week same old crap..now the phone has been discontinued.. absolute waste of time and money.

Huawei Y6 has exact same mono speaker at bottom of phone its exactly the same actually 2gb ram Helio cpu etc Samsung surprisingly is not as good as the A10 has speaker on rear which is awful

They are compatible, the biggest difference is software support. I believe the moto g6 stopped getting security and android updates. The nokia is slated to get updates until at least the summer of 2021.
