It really doesn't. "Real" phones have development budgets that have to be paid for, so the ratio of their manufacturing cost to final price is negligible. You're paying for the R&D. These are base components and stolen software, maybe faked software on a surface level. That's particularly true for camera technology. And he didn't go into all the BS about the Wish phones' storage or connectivity speed. Those were probably advertising 4GLTE or 5G, and actually 3G. The newest thousand dollar phones are overpriced in a sense - it's really the early adopter price tag - but all the "real" phone makers have $200 models that are a far, far better value than anything here.

Some of these phones literally have a debug menu where you can change the rated storage capacity. You also have to remember that you're likely getting a much slower processor inside of them and god knows what else is hidden in the software. They also may not be Google certified so you run the risk of the Google apps breaking randomly.

I’d love to see an in-depth look into the whole “knock off electronics” scene. Where are they making these? It’s fascinating to me! I mean these phone actually work. Somebody put a TON of effort and ESPECIALLY $$ into making these phones functional. They have engineers making knock off versions of the iOS software, knock off camera apps...I mean the amount of man hours into any of these phones even being a ship able product is mind boggling considering what must be razor thin margins! Imagine how many of these phones have to be shipped to make this a profitable business?? These aren’t knock off T-shirt’s we’re talking about! Making phones like this, no matter how “crappy” the finished product is, requires having access to millions of dollars of manufacturing equipment. Is it just 1 factory doing this? Haha! Those powerbank capacitys are hillarius! But I have got 2 that worked quite well. One with a solar panel and dual usb for charging and one with wireless charging + a single usb. And the last one also had both micro and usb C for charging it. For the small price it works just fine. And I also got some ear buds that was pretty good for around 8 USD. But the next ones I got for a friend was crap so.. I was lucky I guess🤷‍♂️😅

When I lived in China, many fake were terrible. Some were close to indistinguishable from the original. About 5 years ago, a friend told me he not an s7 for about 150 dollars. I borrowed it and checked numerous tells to find out if it was a fake. Almost all the internals were the same as the original. The only tells were that it was slightly heavier than it should be, the price and the font on one of the settings.
