I've had my 5.3 for nearly a month now. I think it's an excellent phone. The down side for me is Google assistant and the size, just a tad to big for my liking. For £150 I got a decent phone. I personally never have a use for Siri, Cortana or any assistant just annoying. Takes great pictures. Anyway good review here and thank you 👍

@@bharathcr7751 It's hard to say. I use headphones mostly. Average quality ones as well. I watch a lot of things on KZbin so never really tested the loudspeaker. I'd say phone call quality is good but nothing outstanding. I still enjoy the phone a lot.👍

It is a sensible phone for middle-aged people like me who are not chasing shiny new things ten times more expensive... It feels more expensive with no creaky plastic that flexes it fees very solid, the only complaint I have is the lack of image stabilisation when recording video I'd had gladly given up 4K recording to have that option.

I'm using a 5.3 myself atm, it's very solid for what it costs. The only negative thing about it is the speaker. On the low end there's a static muffled/old time radio background noise, and the high end has no range at all.

@@Deathlock61 the touch sensor on the back hardly works now. Though that could be more user side error, I'm renovating my house so hands have gotten bit rougher. Sound is still below average. The rest of the phone is still pretty decent though, if it's on sale or you're planning to just use it to wait for next gen release and price drop go for it. I will add though that I've primarily used smaller phones, so this one being so much bigger, I still don't like it. I figured I'd try it out, but definitely going back to less than 6" phones.

I have the 5.1 and big issue for me was you could not set the SD card as the default memory. Read the forums and this was a gripe for all Nokia users. 64 GB is on 5.3 helps, but please test this feature in your full review to see if Nokia has addressed the issue. I should say Nokia where in denial about this problem.

An excellent device for the asking price. The features, design and specs it offers are more than satisfactory especially when considering what other handset makers charge for their devices. For the average consumer, with pretty regular usage habits, this device will be more than fine. I mean honestly, unless you are a tech expert or were to look really closely at this device you couldn’t tell the Nokia 5.3 apart from all those fancy flagships. It is a great alternative for those who cannot afford devices with exorbitant prices without marking the device as such. It is weird but quite common to be very self-conscious about the things we buy and own, as many times I guess they somehow speak to our social standing...anywho....at least in the case of the Nokia 5.3 you don’t have to worry about that, if it makes any difference...

Just bought it a few days back. Previous phone was the moto x style which was more expensive. Here you get a Good 6.5 inch gorilla glass display and nokia claims it has reduced the blue light emission from it which is good for your eyes. Also I use the dark mode of display which makes it easier on my eyes. Speakers are good enough but the moto x was a touch bit better. Still no complaints. Camera I feel is decent for a phone at this price. Android one is one of the great features of this one, so you will get updates for some time. The UI feels better than moto for some reason. Another thing I found is that there are NO annoying ADs with this phone. Videos play with out any delay and that is good. So if you are a standard phone user like me on a budget, and not a gamer chances are you will LIKE it.

I have recently purchased one of these phones and two things bother me, first of all when you switch the phone on, you get blinded by the white screen if you don't remember to look away, and also there doesn't appear to be a battery warning indicator so when the battery gets down to 1% it doesn't hang around or bleep telling you it needs charged it just switches itself off! how inconvenient is that!

Just use any other charging cable except nokia cable and it will be fine. I'm doing the same with my 8.1 it's been 1.5 years and i haven't got any problem.

Still not as good a deal as a Redmi Note if the spec sheet is anything to go by! For £30 more you get a 1080p screen, a better processor, a bigger battery, more ram etc... The only thing I prefer on the Nokia is closer to stock Android.

It's not closer. It's totally stock Android. I'm using the Nokia 5.1 plus (Nokia X5)~$136 for almost 1 and a half year and believe me I haven't observe a single lag or frame drop any day. It has just 3Gigs of ram and i compared it with my Mom's Redmi Note 7s( SD 660)~$165, Nokia has far better Ram management than Redmi and performance wise it's equivalent.

Currently I am using Nokia 6.1 plus and in my opinion it's a best budget phone. Very nice glassy look, pretty good camera and other stuffs. Give try to nokia if you got bored from OPPO vivo and Mi handsets.

Finally.. someone telling the real fact !! Never really care about camera actually , but ok.. 2 cameras (1 front and 1 back) is enough for me . My first priority are Reliability and a Good battery life . And 6" is enough , I don't need a bigger screen.

So as soon as I found out this was an Android one project phone. I picked one of these up or around 170 on Amazon on sale. And the whole reason I did this was to see if I could actually live wth a 200$ smartphone. I don't play games on my phone I use it for basic apps, messaging, a little bit of email and work. After having it for two and a half months I can honestly say you would never know this was a budget phone if it had just a bit better screen and camera. After using this phone I can honestly say you spend $1,000 on a phone you're being straight up robbed but to each their own.
