I agree with the people who says that the RAW files of Nokia 9 PureView are it's strength. I have Nokia 9 PureView for more than a year and I can tell what's good and what's bad from my point of view. So first thing first, I love to take photos and that's the main reason to buy it. The phone is unique and many of you knows why - 5 cameras working simultaneously. That's something new not only for Nokia (HMD) but for everyone and yes, there are some things that need improvements, but if HMD develop second generation phone which uses more than one camera at the same time, to take a photo it will be better than the previous one. For the average Joe phone like 8.3 is better, but for more advanced users I think that 9 PureView is perfect. Have anyone noticed what he said in the part of the video in which shows the low light photos of the table with the two chairs on the balcony "it's not just programed in the correct way" this is for the auto mode, but the photo with manual mode (pro mode) it looks like 8.3's photo. What I'm saying is that 9 PureView is really great phone, but needs some software improvements of the camera app. Every Nokia 9 user knows that the phone needs some time to show the photo in the Google photo app. The main reason for this is that the processor of the phone which is not made to operate with more than one camera simultaneously. And needs time to put together the images from all cameras into one. When I was about to buy a new phone I've looked how good are the RAW files from the camera(s) and what are the possibilities of the editing them and guess what - the RAW files from 9 PureView gives most flexibility to edit. The strengths of Nokia 9 PureView are Pro mode, RAW files and black and white photos (Monochrome mode) - because monochrome sensors captures all of the incoming light. www.red.com/red-101/color-monochrome-camera-sensors

Does the 8.3 have the phone case in box? I noticed some openbox video has a gray soft phone case. And you can test the google camera fitted to the phone, maybe there is some difference with the original camera app.
@AbdullaZaki4 жыл бұрын
Good question. From my observation, I think it depends on the market. In europe, I don't believe it comes with a case. But so far in most Asian countries, it does come with a case. I tried the google camera and I liked the results from the stock camera better 80% of the time, mainly because of the realistic colors.

this is a very fair and detailed comparison between these 2 phones :)) You forgot about the dedicated monochrome mode on the 9P though. If you edit your images in Lightroom, 9P is probably the best phone (save for the Huawei P30 Pro).

Hi Mr. Abdullah, I was thinking to get a Nokia smartphone, therefore I needed your help for in my family everyone are objected and are against it, since Nokia does not have the same reputation it had before sadly😔. I am looking for a Nokia 5.3, so the questions I wanted to ask were: 1. I am going to use it for long term(minimum of 3 years as I am a student, so can't afford buying phones every six months or so). Will it support me for these 3 years? With no hardware issues? With no battery problems? With no hanging of the phone? I know hiccups depend on usage and I really take care of my phone neither do I game much. What about battery life? Will it last 3 years or so? What about the charging post issue that most of Nokia phones have suffered from? Actually the problem is resale value of Nokia where I live is also quite low, therefore once I get it, it's done, therefore I don't really want to bet much. I know these are a lot of questions, but please help your Nokia "fanboy defending it from all" brother. Thanks👍

@AbdullaZaki3 жыл бұрын
Hi Manas! There are no advanced video editing options on the device. You can adjust log video colours and add zeiss flair, but that's it. You'll have to use 3rd party video editing apps. The cinematic camera is okay. Colours and details are good but the video suffers from oversharpening and isn't good in low light situations (too much noise). The best way to shoot video is to use the free open camera and set the video bit rate to around 100mbs... At 4k. You can end up with really nice video this way as the camera hardware is capable
@hazemfive2 жыл бұрын
which one is more premuim?
@emilecroons3 жыл бұрын
Sad to me that the 9 PureView has so much better colour balance and dynamic range. I'm not a fan of the oversharpening with the 8.3 either. Also I noticed that dual sight mode has gone on the 8.3 right when I wanted to use it. The 8.3's macro lens is poor quality. Then factoring in that the 9 PureView has no camera bump at all and despite the huge bump on the 8.3 there is still no OIS it's disappointing! I appreciate that the 9 PureView was solely camera focussed and the 8.3 is maybe a little more affordable at launch vs 9 PureView at launch but as a Nokia fan there's nowhere else to go 2 years later! The biggest improvement on the 8.3 is that pictures don't take 20 seconds to process and you can snap many in a row without the whole thing breaking. Much more stable experience for point and shoot and snapping loads. However, I was then let down by the camera app breaking on the 8.3 and not functioning at all at the beginning of the year. Not sure if I can trust the 8.3 or any future HMD devices for being a reliable shooter. 😑 The 9 PureView's niche is RAW and natural black and white, whereas the 8.3's is cinematic video. Instead of those niches they need to just focus on the best components with OIS to make an all-round shooter with good outputs both day and night. Not to mention very basic quality control with their software updates!!

I continue to overall prefer still images from Nokia 9PV due to the superior post processing possibilities of the unique image fusion approach which makes for practically no comparison with the conventional camera smartphones out there, of which the Nokia 8.3 is another in that category. However when comes to video captures, then I won't be surprised if the 8.3 can do a better job. Also, the 9PV has THE far better looking smooth flushed superior industrial design in the rear camera layout compared to just about all the other camera phones out there with relatively ugly bulgy camera humps.
@AbdullaZaki4 жыл бұрын
I don't disagree. If you know how to use the 9 PV, you can get incredible images out of it. As a point and shoot, the 8.3 is more versatile.

@@AbdullaZaki Besides my Nokia 9PV, my other daily use phone is Huawei P20PRO..a conventional camera smartphone. The Nokia 8.3 I'll expect it to behave more like the P20/30/40 PRO etc. i.e. it belongs to the 'normal' category of camera phones so yes, the upfront image capture speed & perceived versatility would tend to be quicker & smoother, as should be expected. But when it comes to the depth of details & the potential of post processing quality, the unique image fusion approach of the Nokia 9PV puts it in a class above of it's own...1 of a kind of smart camera phone..of course assuming the user knows how best to fully use the capabilities of such a unique device.

I wish I could watch more so to-the-point comparisons and/or reviews. (You could only set aside this worthless, childish music in the background...)

Nokia 5.3 vs 6.2 this phone Are in same range in pricing iam going to buy in camera 6.2 is better than 5.3 iam use camera only most . 636 and 665 any difference will there for next 2 to 3years iam going to use suggest the device
@AbdullaZaki4 жыл бұрын
Their camera performance is very close, but I would still go for the 5.3 because its better overall. and with GCAM, you'll get excellent images out of it.

Good! Just don't miss over sharpening. Nokia 9 does too much, something easily noticeable in tree branches, for example, they look black instead of green. I'd also have liked to see some shots of 8.3 without night mode. Anyway, very interesting indeed.
@AbdullaZaki4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I mentioned the over sharpening in the conclusion, but you are right :) The 8.3 uses AI so even when you don't activate night mode, its images are bright. Not as bright as with night mode, but still decent.

Porównanie dwóch modeli smartfonów Nokia 8.3 z 5G i 9 posiadają dobry procesor i aparat cyfrowy do robienia zdjęć . Jeżeli miałbym wybierać spośród tych modeli wybrałbym Nokia 8.3 , ale też są nowe serie smartfonów Nokia z C,G ,X . Trochę trudny wybór .

From a purely aesthetic viewpoint, give me the Nokia 9. They managed and it's a rarity, these days, to produce a phone without a godawful Camera Hump.

I agree. Imo the best integration of a multiple camera array into a design by far.

8.3 is no match against N9 pureview except low light photography. ..in low light only 8.3 is better.. overall details have been better captured in each and every image of the N9 pureview for the scenarios having proper lighting conditions...and yes !!N9 is actually not meant for zooming..
@AbdullaZaki4 жыл бұрын
I like the overall look (colors, contrast) better on the 9, but the 8.3 can keep up. Especially when it comes to details in the area of focus. They are both not great at zooming :)

If you are going to compare it to Apple iPhone 12 Pro. Why don't we invite Huawei Mate 40 Pro to have a friendly match again Nokia 8.3 5G, joins in the comparison bandwagon as well ? Everyone get a chance to compare with Nokia 8.3 5G, no one shall be missed! Be fair, dont just beats one phone but 2! I guess Nokia 8.3 is more than enough for ordinary fans and photographer. Will leave Nokia 9.3 and 10 series for those who are from Milky Way and Galaxies.
