I'm so curious as to what Zee's favorite trick-taking games are! I'm surprised at his only "approved" scores for both Nokosu Dice and Yokai Septet when these are commonly lauded as the best the genre has to offer.

I wonder why purple dice, being darker then the red dice, get black pips🤷🏽♂️

As a colorblind person I appreciate that the red and green (and likewise blue and purple) have different pips. Red having black pips and green having white would also have worked, I imagine the choice was just arbitrary.

As far as difficulty goes, it sounds similar to “Bottle Imp”, that game is a little hard for people to grasp that have done standard trick taking games. Still a great game though.

Simplified trump rule: If a non-trump is led, players must follow with that color, but not the trump number. If they cannot follow, then any card or dice may be played. If a trump is led (color, number, or both), then players must follow with any trump card or dice. If they cannot follow, then any card or dice may be played. In either case, a player's last dice, used for the bid, is not played. A player who bid zero will use all of their dice. (One was removed.)

Zee hearing about deckbuilder #287: AHHH WHO WANTS THIS, STOP SATURATING THE MARKET, ALL THE SAME GAME!.... - Also Zee seeing trick taking game #19,456: "this game has lightbulb moments if you look!". Lmao, I think the hypocrisy is juicy.

Nice review, almost skiped this one. It looks like a great idea with still a lot of potential: 2, 3 players variants, some cool theme.

Dice in this games are treated pretty much like just more cards. It's not really "dicey" if you don't roll them AFTER making decisions. I'm still waiting for a dice trick taking game that actually works.

Operations Master or Thrown are others

That makes zero sense to me. It sounds like you want a trick taking game with more randomness. And randomness rips the heart out of trick taking games.
