This is so true, I watched every video, including yours. I couldn't pick any sense out of it, so I certainly wouldn't put 1.14 on my machine. I just knew we were all missing something as DT was working better than BE. Guess we'll have to wait and see what Nokta has to say! It didn't make sense that M1 and M2 were deeper than BE. Dilek will straighten it out for us all, I'm sure!!

I'm planning on now keeping 1.11 until the demonstration video that's to come out from Nokta. I'm sure it's a great feature, I really can't wait to learn how to use it!

I had a similar experience with Beast Mode in my test garden where it would give a signal on iron but was silent on the coins. I tried everything and could not get any nonferrous signals, so I installed the update a second time and that seemed to solve the problem. Now it gives signals on all metals although one thing I do notice is that the ferrous signals sound louder than the nonferrous signals. I don't know if it's supposed to be that way but at least it's working in a usable way and seems to be performing well. I still need to do more testing to see how it compares to the other modes.

We were thinking about reinstalling the update in hopes it clears the air a bit for us. Like a few said, those that use the goldfield mode are probably more familiar with it's operation. Can't wait for this demo video to come out

Manticore m8 versus lg24 Dt mode, the legend kept up, Both Reaction 3 - 2 tone- Park/ Allgen- 0 iron thresh- Descrim very tight on both 17-30&50-60 on legend then 20-35&70-90 Manticore. Ground balances ran 13-30 black midwest loess soil. In a park 7 live targets marked off. 3 highs tone 4 low tones. Same settings Now lg35versus M15, 9 live targets marked off 3 high tone targets ,dimes and that legend would not hit those, the manticore m15 found, not even a peep @ 6or 7 inches barely hit a penny at 4 inches. But that manticore is what 4 times the price? Coils considered?

@JerseyDigs Yes, that Legend is really the best value, no doubt. I'm only glad that the manticore and the coils were at least a little better performing. And that manticore visual tone screen is very addictive, I love it.

Gigmaster tested Beast mode with three iron nails around a quarter. I got the impression from him that Beast Mode isn't for depth but for finding non-ferrous relics in iron heavy sites. Perhaps it's supposed to penetrate iron infested sites deeper beneath the nails and not give greater depth than other modes except in iron infested ground. Still confused about it myself.

Agreed I saw Gigs video and think the point of it is like you said: relics hunting in iron infested sites. Those aren't my typical sites but it seems like it will make me more interested in giving them a go. Hoping this demonstration from Nokta comes sooner than later.

Yes I know it's for iron separation, but what I didn't like about it was, it had no depth!

I've watched gigs and iffy signals. Gig master seems to have a good idea of it. Hope the demonstration clears the air for us.

i tryed beast mode out in farm field that was going crazy have to ground balance it a few time go bark in reg mode it realy tames it down any time new updates come out allways fixs that have to be done it will get better 1.13 is not bad it goes realy deep from bottom of my foot to my knee was a big thin metal in the ground iam 5" 6 so that was a deep hole may be two pin pointers stacked then some

Yeah! The legend can really penetrate the ground. I also think this update is certainly worth it even outside of beast mode. Even beast mode will be of major use for Detectorists. I may not use it all the time but definitely will. Thanks for watching.

This confusion could have been avoided if nokta had put out a video by a competent nokta engineer to demonstrate what the update entails and how to go about using it.Hopefully in future if the update is going to be fairly complex they'll do a video to explain it, a picture is worth a thousand words as the saying goes!

Agreed. I think an updated manual should have been part of this release. Considering majority of users barely touch the goldfield mode, users are completely novice when it comes to beast mode. They said the demonstration video should be out tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing the results.

I'll likely download it here soon but I was delaying doing so. We plan on doing another beast mode comparison now that they came out with their tutorial video. -Chris
