The difference in depth is quite a bit actually... On my test the stock coil gets about 2 in more depth than the sp-24 across the board. The sp24 is basically aTot Lot sniper coil and it does a very good job there. I don't use it in the beach and I don't use it in parks that have very little trash. It does great at what it's designed to do.

Good video man, i got the sp24 for xmas. Cant wait to get it in the river :) Just to let you know, when i tried to hit the bell on ur channel, it stayed grayed out. Ive come across other channels with the same issue. If people mention it to you, have them unsubscribe then subscribe again. It then allows you the set the notification :) Take care :)

Most coins are from surface to 6 inches and most rings are too..Trashy parks is where the separation and shallower targets. Liking your test bed a lot..

Great video man. I've got the simplex also and my experience with it in the real world seems similar to what your test showed. The 11" coil is definitely deeper...but I don't think its a lot. I wonder if the red clay gives it a harder time than other soil. Seems like when I hit a darker dirt area, it seems to go deeper. Also, higher moisture in the soil seems to enable it to go deeper as well. On a diff subject. A while back you mentioned you were going to be magnet fishing Tugaloo soon, did you ever do that?

The stock coil is a little deeper. I’ll show that video next Tuesday. As for the red clay, i bet some top soil would be good to trade out the first couple inches on the top of that bucket because good grassy ground will have some darker top soil, even here in SC. As for Tugalo, no we didn’t go on that trip. It rained us out. Maybe in the future I’ll get out there and do that.

@@southernrelics Yea at least a few inches of top soil I would imagine. I'm just across the line in Georgia (west of Walhalla) , so the soil is probably pretty similar.

I think the standard coil would get a better depth. I like the small coils for an area I'm looking to sort through some trash at not so deep of depths. But it shows me to think twice when I'm in a new area to maybe use the standard. Have you done this test with standard coil?
