Nah but I like why Nolan wrote it down. Not explicitly to get back at Grey like this, he's proven he not that petty ; He wrote it down in the very first page of his notepad - to keep it in mind, always, and hold himself to a standard that would satisfy Grey. Nolan is great.

Grey and Nolan are the best counter examples of character. They are both old and experienced with that age. But Grey has the experience of making a living as an officer. Other than Captain Anderson and Bradford the guy bleeds blue. Nolan on the other hand has to learn how apply his life experience from being the average Joe into being a cop. They both respect each other. I think Grey had respect from Nolan on day one but needed to keep him on his toes. And didn't really feel comfortable showing that until they're first ride along. For Grey Nolan will always be the oldest rookie but it's awesome seeing them actually act like co-workers sometimes.

And seeing Nolan today and when he started, it’s best to say he achieved a lot over his run. Being LAPD Mid-Wilshire Union Rep, becoming a TO, getting a badass soon-to-be wife who’s a firefighter and reserved soldier, and being a former contractor that gives him knowledge that other cops don’t have. It’s best to say, he’s come a long way.

Still think one of the best interactions was when Grey shot the assassin. And then Nolan was the one who had to walk him through the feelings afterwards. The line "But what will help now?" "Nothing. This part is just hard". is so good.

I love they kept it to just one, because it's something from the very first episode, showing just how far back his mistakes go. He didn't really make that many, but i think the short sweet version they did was perfect.

Oh, I don't know: that was a call back to the pilot in which Grey sacked Nolan but Nolan ultimately refused to go (putting the whole Captain-Grey chat aside for now), so it was a pretty strong Single One. Not to mention, he was still on probation and pushing the man who holds your future in his hands *that* far would suggest a serious lack of judgement for a wannabe P2 😂

You do know that it won't happen. Grey is showing Nolan that it's a never ending pursuit and he better have the stones to continue to pursue the "never ending pursuit". Because that is what police work is, it's a constant grind where you will always be seen as the enemy, even when you rescue and save lives. You better not be in this line of work for approval from other people.
@dstacyify3 жыл бұрын
@@Sonnabend00 Grey is a hard ass because he has to be and he understandably has more skepticism towards Nolan due to him being much older than the average age of most rookies. As we've seen in his recent interactions with Jackson he does have a soft and caring side when it comes to his people (and that includes Nolan). His trust in Nolan was broken to an extent after the fiasco with Armstrong at the beginning of the season so Nolan has kind of been trying to win that trust back ever since.
@dstacyify3 жыл бұрын
@@Sonnabend00 I agree. Grey has rubbed me the wrong way the last couple of episodes with the way he's treated Nolan in a disrespectful and dismissive manner (when Nolan has never been anything but respectful to him). I liked him as they were wrapping up the Doug Stanton storyline with his emotional moment with Jackson in the hospital but it wouldn't kill him to show that kind of respect to Nolan every once in awhile (and the only mistake Nolan really made in the Armstrong fiasco was not getting the rest of the department involved sooner and acting on his own). Grey has hinted at playing favorites with the rookies in the last couple of episodes considering he's treated Jackson and Lucy a lot better than he's treated Nolan.

@@AdeptKing Nolan is respectful towards everyone he comes across. It's not just because Grey is his superior. That's just who he is as a person.
