Boston Muni Golf is great. Franklin Park is a vibe and the perfect place to bring friends who haven’t played regularly. George Wright is where you go once you’re feeling ready for that fun challenge. Good stuff, guys!

Great video - thanks NLU. As someone who grew up in Carnoustie and took amazing, accessible golf for granted it is great to see this happening elsewhere. Didn't think USA had many if any of these type of courses around. Looks like a spectacular place to play every day.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Just picked up golf again after 12 years. George Wright was my home course when I last played. Even back then, it was an incredible track that oozed soul. Exposed granite, big elevation changes, serpentine fairways, tricky greens, whispy rough - it's the Country Club Lite. Unlike The CC, not only could I play at George Wright, but as a resident of Boston, a yearly membership was like $700 - plenty affordable for a young professional living in the city. I spent a lot of evenings there chasing perfection in the twighlight.

Played the Wright in high school and college, and as I got better, it got better. Sometimes that doesn't happen. As you increase your skill, some courses become boring and less challenging. Not GW. It's got so much movement left and right, up and down, with beautiful mature trees and granite outcroppings. It's never boring and never a pushover, even for the low cap guys. Tip of the hat to Ross, to the folks who have given their time and skill to bring it back to what it deserves, and to you for sharing its story and singing its praises.

I played there in June a couple days after the U.S. Open. I loved the course, and the fact it's a municipal is amazing. I enjoyed playing my first true Donald Ross course, and saw my dad and I get punished with his elevated greens and bunkers. Overall a cool course, and loved the history.

GW is a gem. Hole 17 is one of my favorite par 3's. If the granite & puddingstone could be exposed a bit more it would make it one of the more stunning par 3s in the state. Also as a walker I really appreciate the steps up to 14 and the raised path on 17. (let's restore these...often overlooked). Good content fellas.

Great to see, yet at the same time it hurts that my home municipal course in Hoylake, England has been closed since April. This film shows what can be done with a municipal course. It just takes foresight, cooperation and enthusiasm enthusiasm. We have the good people here to make the new impact we just need a chance and the political will.

Such a shame other cities with lovely centrally located and historic golf courses can’t embrace them like Boston do. Here in Auckland, NZ everyone beats up on our central muni, Chamberlain Park. It’s shameful to see calls for it to be destroyed when these gems can be part of rejuvenating cities as well as people’s lives. Well done George Wright and Boston. 👍👏

Yep ... Jeffersonville is definitely a solid track. I used to play George Wright a lot, and in my opinion GW is in a different category. But I could play Jeffersonville all the time. It could use some investment and TLC -- I understand they're putting some capital into the clubhouse soon.

On what planet is $41 for city residents expensive? What's a slap in the face is $125+ to pay mediocre "high-end" public golf courses in the area like Pinehills, Red Tail, Granite Links, etc. What an outrageous take
