Young buck in the red boat is a boss. And that was a sweet team rescue by the youngin in the green boat. Hell yea.

I subscribed for the kayak camping vids (which are epic) but, man, these videos of you and your son are amazing. I can’t imagine how proud you are of him. I have no interest in producing offspring myself but, having had a father that took me on incredible adventures when I was really young, it shaped my lifelong love of the outdoors and I can say with authority that, your boy is going to remember these times for the rest of his life. Another amazing video.

I have had many interesting runs on the chuck. The best one was at 4' after Hurricane Hugo. The scariest was at 5.5" - I walked a bunch that day. The problem with that river is that all the fun is in the first 3 miles and then you have to paddle 4 miles of boring stuff.
@RiverKingsKayak Жыл бұрын
It is also so beautiful in there!

I love this river- Ran it once at 6500 cfs (the dreaded bubble) in an 8!person raft and lost the guide in the first set of rapids. Made an interesting and quick day. It’s so great-at any water level it becomes a completely different trip.

RIP to the lady who flushed drowned on the Nolichucky yesterday. She came out of the raft on quarter-mile and was recirculated in the Hungry Jack rapid (2nd drop) and then recirculated in the 6th drop. The water level was running at 2000cfs. A very runnable level. A reminder of how dangerous moving water can be.
@RiverKingsKayak4 жыл бұрын
Indeed.

Sad to here about the drowning .... Peace and safe travels to her . I was Maytagged In Hungry Jack and swam 1/4 mile at over 3,000 cfs about 30 years ago . I still remember .

River Kings Followed by a 45 minute ride to an ER. Spank Me is right above Quarter Mile entrance rapid. Quarter Mile was a solid Class 5 back in 90s.

@@ByronTodd right on! do you think the riverbed has changed or just the ratings or both?
@ByronTodd4 жыл бұрын
River Kings Ratings and equipment. We were in “state of the art” Dancer kayaks. Compared to the boats of today, they were like getting on extremely long logs - not very maneuverable and very high riders. Plus I want to say that the river was running 1300+ cfs that day - right side of Jaws was impassible.
