That is the real Sherrie in the video!! I was in USMC boot camp and the guy in the bunk above me kept telling us he knew Steve Perry and Sherrie was his sister. We all thought he was full of BS! Then he got a photo of himself, his family, his sister Sherrie and Steve Perry sitting at the table for dinner!! Love this video - Journey and Steve Perry were notorious for not liking the video process, that’s why most of their videos are live

According to Steve, he and another song writer friend were up very late one night. And Sherrie had, had enough. And told Steve that she was going to bed. As she walked away, he said to her........Oh Sherrie! Steve said that he then turn to his friend and said, there's a song in that!! And thus Oh Sherrie came to be!

Seriously. Have you watched, “ anyway you want it” or “Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’” yet? Those were early songs for them also there’s a really beautiful one from 1996. I was around and a teenager when this came out and it's my favorite song of his besides the early Journey stuff (he was the lead singer of that band for a while and of course killed it, broke our hearts when he left Journey and again when they got inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and he didn't preform with them) He stopped singing for a LONG time and released music (25 years in the making which I haven't heard) it's called Traces released in 2018.
