Finding your channel has been such a boone. Its not just that you get straight into the learning without too much fluff. You make the concepts feel not only approachable, but obvious. Also, just following your methodology has improved my workflow SO MUCH. Im working in digital 3d for the first time, and even if I had perfect understanding of the program, I would have never realized to use the masking tool the way you use it. Yet it saves SO much time and effort, and for way better results. Thank you 🙏

How do you get Nomad’s clay tool to behave like that (e.g. at 3:12)? No matter how much I mess with the pen pressure curves for intensity or radius, I can’t get a smooth transition across the stroke like that. Maybe share you settings? Is there a special alpha?

I have a problem, when I voxel merge 2 objects (e.g the hair and the head), my symmetry gets off by a little a bit causing me to have uneven symmetry and its a big headache getting it lined back. Is there a fix for this? Great video by the way!
@SmallRobotStudio3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind comment! Whenever symmetry gets funky check that your model is in the center position (the Gizmo tool menu has the option to do so). Otherwise in the sym menu change your sym from world to local, then it should only consider the center of the object and ignore everything else in the scene.
@QuiGoneStudios3 жыл бұрын
@@SmallRobotStudio Thank you so much for the reply, but I did change my symmetry from world to local and even then it is still off by a slight bit. My object isn't in the center position and moving it back there is kind of impossible, so I was wondering is there a way to do this, from where the object currently is located?

Hi Erica, Please understand that I used the translator first. I have a question in this video. I don't have the hair tool that I use in the video, did you make it yourself? If you make it, can you tell me how to make it?
@SmallRobotStudio3 жыл бұрын
Hi! No worries, english is not my first language so no judgement from me. The main tools I used are the tube tool, flatten tool, clay and crease. I made a few changes to the clay and crease tool so the behaviour helped my shapes a bit. I showed this in the Crease Tool video in the channel. It's honestly nothing fancy, regular clay and crease work just fine!

Hi! First good videos your model is just like you! Now I have a question. What is the pipeline if I want to create a normal map in Nomad Sculpt for a low poly model that I had imported from Maya or C4D and I had sculpt for high poly details
@SmallRobotStudio3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for your kind words :) Atm Nomad cannot create Nornal maps. I'd probably sculpt in Nomad and take the model to another software that can do it. Not the best workflow though 🤔
@Guyvruce3 жыл бұрын
@@SmallRobotStudio hmmm ok, thank you for your fast answer Erika, maybe with forger or similar? I'd like to integrate the iPad in my workflow to work far of my PC in sometimes,
@SmallRobotStudio3 жыл бұрын
@@Guyvruce I am honestly not familiar enough with Forger. The hard part is to create the details of the high poly model which you can do in Nomad but the actual texture normal map is easy to do if you have your low poly model uv'ed (just not through Nomad) The iPad is still quite limited for a complete workflow you still need a PC

Hello Erika, just a question. Why is your head mesh of such incredibly high detail, while you try to keep the hairmesh lower poly? Do you plan to work on it later more and then re-topologize the end result?
@SmallRobotStudio3 жыл бұрын
Hi Darius, when sculpting, I work with highpoly to get as much detail as possible there. This isn't fit for animation or rendering of course. I'd later retopologize, project the detail into the new mesh, UV and with normal and displacements maps get the detail with a low poly count. All this is in other software aside from Nomad. But it all depends on what you are doing with the model. Cheers!
