The easiest way to do eyeballs is to enable symmetry before you validate the sphere. You’ll automatically get two eyes that you can size and position.

A hard-surface modeling tutorial would be super dope overall in addition to my last comment - Thanks again man - great work!!!
@DisgruntledPigumon4 жыл бұрын
There’s kind of no hard surface modeling in Nomad. You can cut flat surfaces, but you can’t do sharp curves or stuff like that. Except by hand.

Really like these! One thing that i find really tricky is how to make eye lids in sculpting programs like forger or Nomad. I am sure there is an easy way, but havent found a way to layer them on top of eye sockets. anyone know a tutorial i could watch to get a better idea as to how to approach it?
@SouthernGFX4 жыл бұрын
Make a sphere for the eyeball and sphere for the eyes lid. Trim away the lid. Merge the lid with the head and leave the eyeball separate. I'll do you a video.

Hi. Currently going through your playlist on Nomad, so maybe my questions will be answered as I go through them. It’s an awesome app for sure and I like the way you show viewers various aspects of the app. I’m a complete noob, except I’ve been playing with putty 3D for a little while and I know I need more control and more options would be great. One thing I need to know is, can I save multiple files on my iPad Pro? I mean, how big are the files for a finished creation? Can those files be zipped? (told you I was a noob 🤓) Umming and ahhhing over which sculpt app to get, or even if it’s what I need. I’m trying to make an animation (hobby, not commercial), and I have limited funds so don’t want to buy multiple apps only to find I can’t use them for my particular purpose (either because I’m a noob and won’t be able to work out how to control it, or because the app won’t do what I need it to do). Is there another sculpting app that might be easier or is this app suitable for absolute beginners? Wondering if this will help for my drawings, as I think I’m right in thinking files can’t be exported into an animation app (i.e. Callipeg or Procreate) for iOS? Ofcourse, if I can do more than use the creations as a drawing support, I’d really like to know. Any advice/ideas, would be most welcome. Thanks in advance 👍🏼

Great video, when you want to place the eyes you always move the head, or other pieces and is there a shortcut or button to center it ? to be sure to replace the head at center or maybe option to not move it ? like pressing on the cross on objects menu to be sure to block the move rotate and scale option to this object?
@SouthernGFX4 жыл бұрын
Yeah there’s a lock button in the scene tab. I’m just lazy and forgetful :)
@nomad85424 жыл бұрын
Yes if you select the gizmo and then go in the tool panel (pencil icon), you have options to recenter.
@evgeniapetrova8433 жыл бұрын
@@SouthernGFX haven’t found nether this nor the option offered by Nomad. And I can’t put the plane precisely in the center manually. Thus there is always the HUGE problem with mirroring 😭

Enjoying these Nomad videos a lot. I do have a question though. How are apps like Nomad and Forger different from desktop programs like ZBrush? Is the difference in what the capabilities of the software can do? Like how desktop programs can do a lot kore complex things than apps?:)
@SouthernGFX4 жыл бұрын
Excellent questions Danio. ZBrush (and similar) are fully rounded production tools and have a wide range of tools and features and are made to run on high spec computers. The Ipad (and similar) could never compete when it comes to digital sculpting however, recently these two programs are showing real promise without having to buy the most expensive one. The advantage for people like me is that we can do a portion of our job whist not trapped behind a desk. You could argue that we could do it with a Laptop and Wacom (or similar) tablet and that true, and I do. But sculpting with an Ipad is as easy as pulling a book out of your bag. I saw a post form a well known ILM artist using Nomad on a train yesterday which is amazing to see. The stuff we make on the Ipad is usable in ZBrush, Maya, Blender etc. and it is a really viable gateway drug into ZBrush and in fact into the industry.
@dpcaw4 жыл бұрын
SouthernGFX thank you for answering. I did buy zbrush to indulge as a hobby many years ago but i stopped because i found maneuvering in it hard even if i was using a wacom cintiq because perhaps im self taught. So i stopped and moved on to other hobbies. I got alerted to apps like these because of you and felt like giving it a try again because it seems easier to control and use from my ipad. :) i shall continue watching you and make a decision lol

@@SouthernGFX Actualy i did. Thinking about talking about how do you make the link between the diferent model parts and the mentality to have when creating stuff for printing... Maybe that is nothing to do with this programs 😅
@SouthernGFX4 жыл бұрын
@@IAcePTI The big thing that is missing from the Ipad App for printing is the ability to do live booleans. If you know ZBrush well you will know how important they have become. Being able to make a KEY for a limb and then Boolean it away live is just amazing. I think Nomad has the lead on that as he already has Trim brushes but it needs to go further. I will definitely do more videos with printing in mind. I'm just ordering a Peopoly Phenom and recently retired my Form 2. I recently got an ELegoo Mars Pro which is amazing.
