No need to apologize or explain why you chose what you did. The van looks great! Being able to sweep hard floors is nice. Being able to take your beautiful rugs out and beat the dirt out is much better than installed carpet. The rugs are also insulating and warm insulation on a cold desert morning. Everything you said about the advantages of a chest style fridge is true. But don't forget that heat rides. It is easier to keep a chest fridge/freezer cold when you open the lid vs opening the door of a traditional door fridge/freezer. Putting something insulating under it is also helpful, as is not placing it over a hot area. Great van!

these buses are the perfect size to have more width inside than a van build would, still low enough to build up the roof and not worry about bridges/lines, and can fit in any parkiing spaces.

In a traditional fridge when you open the door all the cold air slides out(cold are sinks to the lowest point); chest style fridges are more efficient because when you open the top the cold air does not rise or escape as much.

I like a lot of your build! Clean your solar panel, that allows you to get more solar on a bad day, not looking like it will affect you this day. As far as a fridge, it can be a crap shoot. Even Bob Wells says just get whatever you can afford. There's no guarantee. Overall, a great build! Lots of ideas I like. I like reusing stuff so people have to figure out what you did. If you rebuilt it, I'd have used 2x2s for your electric area. That's overbuilt. I built the bench in my van with 2x2s, held up great. If you get 2x4s, you can cut them in half. I like covering up some of the windows. I've thought about doing something where you have an insulated panel that just drags up from behind the cabinets and locks in above. I haven't been sure on the handicapped lift because I could use it for moving things, since this is in place of having a truck. I have a small trailer that's for towing behind my car or bus/van.

I love it! I like how you covered the windows with walls. I want to convert a shuttle but the windows in my mind are a security risk. I think the pocket doors on the windows will be a good solution. Those could even have a lock on them some way. Or I could just leave the top visible. Anyone who wants to break in will have to work for it.
@nomadbrad5033 жыл бұрын
Yes, I also believe all the windows are a security risk and that’s where you loose or gain heat. Also it’s just too much exposure. I prefer the privacy of fewer windows and not needing curtains everywhere

Nice build for a quick put together. No negative punt intended either. I see a lot of different updates to do. But it's totally functional as is.I'm a movies buff myself. So a bigger monitor would be my first upgrade.A two burner cooktop a must. But you use the insta-pot mostly. So that works for you. With all the space under the bed. I'd get me bigger water tanks.Since you don't use so much battery power. I'd opt for a 12v pump.You could always use the jugs to fill a larger tank.Put a drain cox in the bottom of the gray water tank to empty as needed. A propane on demand water heater.That would allow for an outside shower and hot water for dishes. Oh Yuck washing dishes. I don't like doing!! With the outside access to under the bed. A slide out tray would be convenient.Also one on the inside would work as well.I could go on and on. You said comments and suggestions were cool. So I threw a few at ya.Keep on Truckin' Dude!!
