Take your truck to a heavy duty truck shop. You need your rear end rebuilt. I would have them install all new bearings and seals in the differential and axels. I would also check your U Joints - front and rear. You can drain the fluid and if you see a bunch of metal, it’s the bearings. Have a professional independent shop that does this type of work so they set the correct amount of backlash.

I would like to add, I have this basic setup except with the Delta2 MAX. And I don't have the EcoFlow charger. Like he said at the beginning of the video. This is a great setup if you are starting from scratch (like my brother was). If you have an existing system (like I did) the EcoFlow charger becomes an unnecessary luxury. If you have a 1000 watt AC inverter installed you can charge the Delta 2 At 750 watts just by plugging the Delta2 into the inverter. I love the form factor of the EcoFlow charger and think its a slick setup, but at the current price, Ill continue to use my inverter (like the cave man I am)...😆

Congratulations. You've created all the amenities of an Airstream glamper without the leg room. Overlanding used to be about self reliance, getting off the beaten path and unplugging and reducing life to its basic elements to self reflect and connect more meaningfully and interpersonally with nature and the folks you met on the trail. Now its about bringing all the plugs and the gadgets that need them with you and making youtube videos about it to get clicked approval from strangers. Doesn't feel like progress.

I agree with all of this, but you can’t do it if you have kids. It’s not a stable lifestyle for them and child protective services will yank them away from you so fast your head will spin.

I lived in my car for a few years in the 90’s while I saved up to buy a house. It was a 1970 Cadillac hearse. I was young and just out of the military. Probably not something I’d want to do now, but it was fun sometimes.

I’m fascinated by the pipe-dream of taking the Alaska State Ferry System to Juneau and then building a float cabin with foam core ferro-cement pontoons and maybe a quickie little Quonset hut kit perched atop the floats. Then I can don my wetsuit and mask, snorkel and fins and go spear fishing like Aqua Man. Except I’m not as buff as Aqua Man being an old fogey.

@@wideawaketotruth5301 this isn’t my build, im only doing the electrical. I’m just letting you know what builders charge for these things. Think about it like this: you hire a custom builder. The project takes them 6 months to complete. That is their business and how they make a living. They have to charge enough to cover 6 months of their income, insurance, and rent on their shop including utilities. If a builder wants to make a modest 60k per year, they have to charge 30k for a job that takes 6 months to complete. On top of that they have to cover all their overhead. It adds up. Custom builders are skilled tradesmen. Plumbers and electricians charge over $100 per hour. Custom builders often do electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. You’re not going to find anyone skilled that is going to spend 6 months on a project for 10 or 20k.

You could put the Instant Pot outside the vehicle to exploit the high outside temperature, cutting its power consumption in half, while saving a lot of power of the AC unit. Also, it sounds like you could double your batteries, have no worries.

The downside is that it’s hard and near impossible to have a healthy family living in a van. When people buy a house, it’s to start a family. Don’t buy a house when you are single and don’t want a family. That was your problem. Telling people not to buy a house and not working towards retirement is basically telling people to not get married, not have kids, and not build a family. If everyone runs around solo in a van, the economy will crash. The solution is not to run away from high inflation houses but to fix it by paying attention to what your government is doing and pass bills and setting regulations that help lower prices so houses can be affordable to people. You all are running around spouting your political point of views siding with corrupt politicians and then you wonder why housing and everything cost so much.
