Be safe there kiddo….not all bears think that way. They are extremely unpredictable. If you camp in a high populated bear area, consider purchasing a elec bear fence. You DO NOT want a blk bear coming into your camp at night. And no-not all bears (want) to avoid humans. They are opportunistic.

Since you can plug up stuff, you should get an electric cooking plate so that you can also fry food with a pan or griddle. It will come in handy for pancakes and eggs.

There's also the 'Land between the Lakes' area which straddles the border with Tennessee and Missouri, near Paducah... off I-65, which Nomi may have used.

Yes, bears do swim. We see them in the lake we fish at in the Sierra Nevada mountains in California. My granddaughters get so excited when they see them out fishing. Love watching your adventures. I love your spunk. Sending prayers for your safety as always.

Absolutely bears on that island and they swim for fish too so it’s not just on the island. You can also bring a portable radio to play that and you can listen to Weather and to keep bears at bay but a fire does that even better.
