I have an FJ-09 that the previous owned "improved" with a different map, exhaust, and intake. Sure it got an increase of 8-9 HP, but LOST 20% fuel economy, even when hyper-driving (hypermilling). Sweet package. The ECU tune is the big part. I didn't tune my T7, just swapped the can for a Mivv Dakar. But if I were to install a performance intake and header, would definitely tune the ECU. There's places you can send them into to in the US. But I'd just bite the bullet and take it to a dyno. Lower fan temps and optimized fueling with an unrestricted intake/exhaust is definitely going to add some power. As well as weight savings.

I wonder why the original setup has that long snorkel ? does it do anything at all? the power curve with the new filter and mapping has exactly the same little dips and hikes. Just more of everything overall. I was hoping for a slightly more exiting topend so that the fun lasts a little bit longer into the high rev range.
@TonySK784 ай бұрын
the design of the snorkel is to prevent water from entering the engine through the air filter when dropping the bike in the water. When laying on the side or tipped over, it should create an air pocket inside, thus preventing the water from entering, I assume.
