Unbelievable Tim walked on Henry Hoover, and underhanded play by Horne suggesting that its not Henry Hoover who appears in their show. Clearly he does, he is introduced and he speaks English. The problem is, as the caption stated, the actual device is not a Hoover, leaving Tim with the avenue of claiming that he was talking about the fictional character Henry Hoover. And a more apt parallel would be Brian from Life of Brian whose first language was effectively translated into English for the film. Leaving Alex with the argument that Joe's representation of Henry translated his first language of vacuum cleaner into English. The point is, Tim could have, and ordinarily would have argued it out far more than he did. And may still have lost. But isn't that what the game's all about?

I was thinking this - but if you take the inverse of the category as “only people whose first language is / was English” then it only includes People who have spoken & it was in English. If you can invert “No more people [whom] English [is] not their first language” in a way which includes people who haven’t yet spoken language then Key shouldn’t have walked, but I don’t think it inverts that way.

Well, I've heard what you have had to say and I think those questions are rather profound. 1) This channel gets fuck-all views and is more of a desperate attempt by the boys to connect with others during the apocalypse; therefore 2) The NMJ audience is largely made up of nerds like us who have been watching since the first episode and find themselves heavily invested in the show. Those who reside below the line have clearly made some questionable life choices, but we like it down here and could probably work up enough support to make sure they keep it going.

A lot of arguments about characters called Henry Hoover. I'd argue that Henry Hoover *the product* even has a first language. When the box is delivered and you are assemblying the device, what language are the instructions written in on the front of the sheet? And what language is displayed on the box? If you dropped Henry Hoovers all over the planet at random and time different people turning them on, how are English speakers going to rate vs everyone else?

BTL here, long time connoisseur of the game, big fan of the play by you three upstarts, but disappointed at Key's walk here. Horne had played a non-speaking baby just before, he's got no business with any of this "sounds" business. Not all sounds are languages, and languages are to communicate - something which your friend and mine, Mr H.T. Hoover, does not do. The category was no more people where their first language isn't English. Henry, capable as he is and a fine man in many respects, hasn't got a first language yet, he either can not or will not communicate with us, so you cannot categorically say his first language isn't English.
