I love how Scrapman finds ways to do logic without logic gates. The ball acts as a flip flop and the block offset on sensors creates priority (usually done with logic gates, not by logically thinking and arranging situations where these work). Very impressive and efficient!

Thank you for featuring my pack! I found you setting the sensors 2 blocks forward on the last challenge pretty amusing, definitely didn't expect that. This pack is pretty outdated and I'm working on a new one that I'm planning to release this week.

What is the "intended" solution to that one? The way I would've done it (if I had the game and knew how to program with logic gates) was to save which side activated first, and have the bot only turn according to those gates. If one side is already active, and the other side activates, negate the second one. Only problem is, it doesn't work if somehow you manage to get both sensors to activate at once As a programming nerd I'm really curious what you were thinking of when making that particular challenge!

@@maevixie7041 The way I solved it is with a simple tank drive system like ScrapMan did except the sensors were aligned. Making the bot remember which way it was going previously is a brilliant idea, however I'm pretty sure there aren't enough logic gates to build what you're saying. New map features more logic blocks to make whatever you feel like though!

with the vertical climb, i think it is more important to make the grabber a claw that prevents up and down (relative) movement, rather than just grabbing from the sides

23:00 - You could just connect FORWARD to SENSOR RELAY GATE and it would do the same thing as what you did with two. The original relay gate was already an AND gate.

Great video, I enjoyed every second of it and especially your thought process and seeing the machines in action. you could maybe make the sensors detect black and activate the steering when it doesn't detect the black. that way, it wont stop steering when it reaches the outside border of the white strips.

For a systematic solution to the problem of a collision with a white lane when both sensors get triggered simultaneously, it is enough for the car to drive in reverse while both sensors are active. This way you can fix the position of the sensors at the edge of the white surface and multiply the time when only one of the sensors is active. By multiplying this time, you should give the car enough time to turn. I think it's more versatile than doing the sensor priority thing.

10:08 You could use a bit that drives forward at 0 and backwards at 1 triggered by the sensor. Or you could just simply make the forward always run, backwards run when ball detected, and backwards twice the speed as forwards.
