Imo I think it would work if reactions to copyrighted stuff would work if they would just be uploaded unedited (no money = no editing) as it’s separate video. I think that way it could work out. That’s how I’ve seen some people deal with footage that will be copyright claimed once posted online.

So, the guy who "sings" on Unbending Steel isn't actually a vocalist! He's just a guy with a really deep voice that Masayoshi Soken heard talking in a meeting that he was walking by, and basically hauled out of the room by the scruff to record for him! It's been heavily processed, is what I'm saying. 😅

Epica would be a great suggestion of that genre, too. And to make the trifecta of Dutch perfect, let's add some Within Temptation as well (even though though they're not as classical, symphonic leaning as the other two). If we're already in that ballpark Exit Eden, Xandria, Auri and Delain, Tarja Turrunens solo stuff (as I know most suggestions that come up will be for Floor's songs, which is legitimate of course, but the other former singers definitely deserve some love, too), Insomnium, In Flames, Kiske&Somerville, Lacuna Coil, Leaves' Eyes, Phantasma (solo project by Charlotte Wessels, former leading lady of Delain), Sirenia and Soilwork, Triosphere and Wagaki Band are great listens as well (not exclusively for meshing metal and symphonic/opera stuff so well, though 😅 Can't blame a metal chick for jumping on that band waggon as well, since y'all already brought it up 😉

Composer Keiichi Okabe’s “A Beautiful Song” is literally a boss battle against an opera singing, mechanical Simone de Beauvoir sung in a language made up by himself, singer Emi Evans and game director Yoko Taro. Just look up Nier:Automata “A Beautiful Song”. Don’t be confused by the recent animated show, you’re looking for the PS4 game. Also, FF7’s “One Winged Angel pt2” from the PS5 Remaster (I’m sure this gets struck a lot.) Bonus is Casey Edwards+Viktor Borba’s “Bury the Light.” It’s hard rock, instrumental, metal, everything possible from DMC5. Not only does it NOT get struck but Casey Edwards has routinely gone into folks’ comments to thank them for reviewing/reacting which is awesome. Cheers!

Something that most non-gamers may not get is that videogames are esencially interactive art made with multiple pieces All visual, auditive and interactive sections must be optimal Music, part of the auditive, is made seriously Is still music, and is still made to be catchy and likeable

The "wail that you can't really be sure if it's a voice, a violin or an electric guitar" is some sort of double reed instrument. From the name of the tune, its orthography, I'm guessing it probably is an Indian one.

Tenebre Rosso Sangue is to me, one of the best videogame OST I have heard in my life, and I love the concept that is not "A boss music", but "YOU are the boss music".

If you ever decide to introduce VGM to more people, you HAVE to show them Fatalis' battle theme(s), considering how hard it blew YOU away the first time you listened to it.

Chris Christodoulou is one of the most down-to-earth composers for video games out there- the guy spared me a solid 5-6 paragraph response to a couple questions high-school me had about music composition and the industry and said he was sorry for not being able to spare more A very cool dude for sure

You HAVE to show him (or any other singer) some Octopath Traveler music. They're hard to find on KZbin (blame Square), but it's so worth it to listen to them, and I'm including the mobile game of all things as well. I can give some suggestions: First game: - Decisive Battle II - They Who Govern Reason - The Frostlands - The One They Call The Witch + Daughter of the Dark God (2 in 1 for the final boss) Mobile game: - Herminia - All Phases - Tytos - All Phases - Tatloch - All Phases Second game: - Any character theme for the 8 travelers - Critical Clash 1 - Critical Clash 2 - Fierce Confrontation - The Song of Hope

Nice to have a sort of lightning round of music reaction videos in just a few minutes, sometimes the idea of watching a bunch of videos at once can be intimidating. I do really want to see the uncut version of this though!

I get that there probably aren't as many views with the whole stream uploaded (since 90+ min. is hard to watch in one sitting) but I hope that it's still out there somewhere. I really liked watching some of the other videos because I felt like I was able to experience the entire song alongside Marco and the listener. (Those episodes with Kathleen Kelly were my first views and still my favorites. She is a delight!)
