@@HannaHsOverInvested it's a collectible card game and comes with all the trappings that exist in that genre of game, what the response talks about is the disparity between 'whales' who can throw as much money into the game and get all the cards they would ever need to make the most powerful decks possible and as a result have an easier time of getting higher ranks on the seasonal ladder than someone who is playing for free who can only buy a single a card pack with in game currency earned per day on average, meaning they will struggle on the ladder against those who 'netdeck' their way to success. the overarching plot of the game from the developers is that the game has a foundation in the warcraft universe (originally it was called Hearthstone: Heroes of warcraft but after exhausting the main characters of the warcraft universe they dropped the 'heroes of warcraft' portion of the name and just went with 'Hearthstone' making card design and development a lot easier for them and allowing them to make up their own characters for cards and such.), every time there's an expansion set added to the game there's a 'theme' to that set of cards either using a totally new card mechanic in game or utilising an older mechanic that is popular, with many of the card set expansions that have released over the 6 years this game has been out mirrored in the expansions that came from World of Warcraft, or from places within WoW that are iconic in the story of that game etc, with a few whacky and totally new made up stories and characters made exclusively for Hearthstone over the years.

In lore game everyone plays card he's and is friendly. In game experience can be frustrating because you can't play for free and need to pay a lot of money to get good decks. The videos are the good part with no downsides.

@@HannaHsOverInvested Hearthstone has been pretty anti-consumer for a long time, and even though it's much better now and seems to be getting more friendly expansion (I'm sure by necessity rather than desire), lots of people have been burnt by the predatory monetization that had run unchecked for years. That said, I don't understand vitriol against "netdeckers" whatsoever. Netdecking refers to people who use decks that have been published online, rather than coming up with their own decks from scratch. Every collectible or trading card game has netdecks, it's a feature of having a community built around a specific card game.

But yeah.. Hearthstone's really goofy. The first trailer kind of said it best: Forget everything else, and just have fun -(In possibly terrifying ways)- ! As for my personal favorite.. Rastakhan's Rumble. I dare you not to get that one on your mind afterward :P

Hearthstone, according to the former leader of the dev team Ben Brode, is meant to be Warcraft stories but told in an inn with a drink in hand. Exaggerated, whimsical tales you can't verify for truth. Expansions like Curse of Naxxramas and Blackrock Mountain are fairly faithful to their World of Warcraft versions while One Night in Karazhan is a fun twist on a very dark location and characters with rich history. Can't wait to see the next reactions since the next 10 or so contain probably my top 5 favorite HS trailers(I hope the Playlist has included every trailer and not just expansion launch trailers for the last two years)

The guy who was in charge of HearthStone when most of these little intro songs were made is a guy called Ben Brode. Some people got mad when some of the new game updates didnt have a video with a song, so after left, he made a music video of his own about Grilled Cheese and it is amazing

So what we're looking at are the trailers for the various expansions for Hearthstone. Collectible Card Games (CCGs) often release new sets of cards to play with, in order to keep things fresh (and make more money), and the trailers are introducing the theme of each new set. The ones listed as 'A Hearthstone Adventure' include a special solo game mode, most of which are really fun.

I came here for some wholesome reactions to brighten my day up a bit. I was not disappointed. Lol'd at the part "oh, so you play this for fun?" - WELL, in theory, yes... but no. I mean I don't because I noticed I get extremely competitive and while I would like to believe I can take some losses like champ and just realize the casual aspect to it, hearthstone brings out the worst in me. But that's just me, the solo content of the game is actually quite good. Had a good time watching this, thank you.

"OOH, Who's SHE?" That was Jaina. The Daughter of the Sea... Just, younger. The cool thing about Hearthstone is a lot of these expansions are referencing WoW patches. Naxxramus, Blackrock Mountain, Karazan etc, are all reinterpretations of raid experiences where you're playing cards against bosses instead of fighting them. I like it.

Yes, Hearthstone is a digital card game that uses characters and lore from the Warcraft universe. Everything from "Curs of Naxxramas" onward was the different expansions to the game that were released over time (kind of like Magic: The Gathering, if you're familiar with that). Well TECHNICALLY some were "Expansions" and some were "Adventures", but the difference does not really matter for the trailers. And of course Hearthstone puts a (usually silly) twist on everything: The Magus Medivh and his Tower Karazhan are very old parts of Warcraft lore, the disco-themed parties he throws there...not so much.

Ah yes, the goofy and fun side of the Warcraft universe. :D I can echo what most people have mentioned already - this is the version of the Warcraft universe, where people settled their differences through playing personalized card games (in my opinion, a twist on how conflicts could be settled, the idea being that it could be done by competition, for smaller or bigger matters). Also, you have already seen some of these characters, for example - the female human is Jaina, the mage from the "Daughter of the Sea" video. But yeah, this is just fun stuff going on, with people appearing both as playable characters, and cards as well! As for a deeper dive suggestion - there are some cinematics from Blizzcon events through the years, that are a bit longer, and I think the "Hearth and Home" animated short would be something you'd enjoy. The trailers that you did already watch covered the HS content up till the end of 2016, and there are 3 expansions each year (with their own trailers), and there were some adventures thrown in as well, I think. I guess what I'm trying to say is - if you want to, there is enough content out there for at least one more Hearthstone... marathon of trailers, or something like that. :D

Hearthstone is a free-to-play card game based on the characters of the Warcraft games. It's cross-platform, and is available on PC and mobile devices; I'm not sure if it's on playstation or xbox. Each of these videos was for different expansions of the game, although they function a lot more like "seasons".

@9:25 - "I want 10min episodes of these characters" Yeh there is a Warcraft movie that was made, Hollywood style. Did ok but did not do good enough for a sequel. Story is a bit adapted to be understood without requiring the audience too know much of the Lore (to reach a broader audience). But yeh.. Fans on the other hand, after seeing all the high-def clips of Sylvanas, Saurfang, Anduin and all the other clips we had last expansion, really want Blizz to just make a full movie by themselves. But I remember a Graphics panel from an old BlizzCon (might been 2015) where they say that the big Alliance Airship in the opening Cinematic was a 20Gb file on its own and to render it took 14hrs per frame! Just that airship, and 25 frames per second (or 30 in the US), and then to render the Horde airship as well and all the surroundings! So, it is not something they can just put together sadly..
