Don't see any comments on the Siege video, so I'll elaborate. Sounds like you found a reupload and they muffled out the music so they wouldn't get copyright struck for it (It usually plays the song "Elephant" by Tame Impala during the bar fight) This is much like the other game trailer cinematics you've witnessed which make more sense of you are familiar with the characters (TF2 being the main exception that introduces you in the process) Hammer and the Scalpel is an insight to the operators lives on the training routine as part of Rainbow and the conflicts they have with one another. Dokkaebi, the geeky girl is an op from South Korea who is fluent in hacking and digital security, while Mike Baker, A.K.A Thatcher, the grumpy British man hates people relying on technology, hence his EMP grenades that he uses in game and in the cinematic. Dokkaebi is basically just chatting with their director about her frustrations in working with Thatcher, though Six wants them all to learn to co-operate for the Rainbow project as a CTU, and we're given a little insight to Thatcher's personal life, just beating up a bunch of thugs who assaulted his brother(?) over a loan. Six also acts as a codename for the director of Rainbow. Harry is now the director, who took over for a woman who was brought to work at the ministry of defence. He feels a little overwhelmed by the nickname, so he seems to prefer the more personal touch. It's also quite interesting how you responded to Dokkaebi's appearance, considering that was exactly what she aims for in the way she dresses. She took on a geek persona to soften her appearance in light of intimidating a mostly male dominated regiment, including her superiors, back with the 707th SMB / White Tigers (Her original military unit before being recommended for Rainbow) her glasses for example are fake. Siege is another one of those games where they didn't bother with the story so much, focusing a lot on the gameplay and e-sport potential of it, but have now started to do a lot more in the way of histories and backgrounds, including re-writes of more in depth profiles for each of the operators, there's a lot of fun connections between them all to find nowadays. Most of the gameplay is 5 vs 5 online multiplayer, each team being attackers or defenders, both of which are formed from operators working with Rainbow like Thatcher or Dokkaebi in a training situation pitted against each other. (At writing time there are 58 unique operators/characters) Early footage showed teams being terrorists vs operators, though that was scrapped in light of both design and events in the world at the time of the games conception I think. So mainly now it's a game mostly designed for the gameplay, with something over the top to explain it afterwards in typical Ubisoft fashion. I'd recommend seeing Siege's "Tournament of Champions" to see a cinematic styled on the gameplay, which is a good dose of fanservice featuring more of the operators.

England wasnt really united at the time of the viking raids but rather divided into several smaller and larger kingdoms like most European kingdoms at the time (Most viking raids happened around the 800 to 1000 AD) . The Vikings were able to use the weakness of those kingdoms against them. The assassins creed movie was based on the games.

Wow, a lot to unpack here: Let's start with Siege. Rainbow Six was a novel by Tom Clancy about a special Nato counter-terrorist task force (not necessarily all military) trying to stop a cabal who want to unleash a global pandemic that would kill off most of the world's population (so yeah … there's that … ) They do this under the guise of environmentalism, but really it's because they're wealthy elitists. The name of the team "Rainbow" alludes to the multi-national coalition while the "Six" refers to the character John Clark (with 6 denoting his position as commander, Rainbow 5 being his deputy, and so on). While most of Clancy's books are heavy into espionage and political machinations, Rainbow Six was more about Clark and the actual team members planning and executing mission scenarios, how they work together, and what each member brings to the table from their receptive backgrounds (SAS, delta, FBI, MI6, CIA, etc). All in all it's not a bad read if you're into that sorta thing. So naturally Rainbow Six Siege is a FPS about military operators doing "badass" because fuck yeah military, and has fuck-all to do with the books or it's character. To be fair, the first two games in the franchise were actually pretty faithful adaptions of the book, but that was 20 years ago. At this point it's pretty much just capitalizing off of Clancy's name. Assassin's Creed started out as pretty good historical fiction about the historical Islamic Order of Assassins (Ḥashashiyan), but with a sci-fi twist to it. Aside from a serious case of the not-muslims, the franchise wasn't bad, not great, but fun in a pulpy way. For the most part each game took place in a different time period including; the Third Crusade, the Italian renaissance, the American and French revolutions, victorian England, and then eventually going backwards into Greco-roman Egypt and Classical Greece. The franchise began as stealth action games where you'd stalk your target, kill them, and then escape by either blending into a crowd and slipping past the enemy, or parkouring along the rooftop to safety. Over time the games had less of a focus on stealth and become more of an open-world slash-'em-up that wasn't quite an RPG, but almost sorta. The story, while there, was never really the forefront. What started as the Assassins' ever lasting war to stop the Templars from dominating the world eventually got pretty ridiculous with mind-control, Alien-gods, doomsday weapons and explody suns. Plus they kept shoehorning in historical figures like Benjamin Franklin and Charles Darwin for like no reason. Overall, Assassin's Creed is like the 80s action movies of videogames; bombastic, kinda dumb, but a pretty good time to be had regardless.

Rainbow is the name of the multinational counterterrorism organization in Tom Clancy’s universe. The game currently has 58 playable operators split evenly between attacking and defending. Each match can be viewed as a training exercise between the two teams. In the trailer we have two attackers, Thatcher (mike) is old fashioned, hating most technology and uses emp grenades which is why Dokkaebi (grace), a South Korean operator who relies heavily on cameras and tech was mad. Harry was originally the team’s psychological advisor but inherited the title of Six, the sixth member of a team as leader and advisor. Sam Fisher, another Clancy character from the Splinter Cell series, uses the code name of Zero after joining rainbow to show that be came before them and is there as a trainer. The “legacy” operators are the originals in the game and all have short videos that shows off there special gadget but there are also the tournament of champions and animated shorts to show you the characters’ personalities.

I think the Assassins Creed trailer is an interesting one because the big moment is the iconic hidden blade that is in almost all the games is being used by a Viking on the wrong side of the arm. It’s suppose to be underneath and hidden to be extended and do a quick silent stealthy kill. Other thing the game is about stealth, I don’t really think of Vikings when I think of stealthy.

Ffs, exporting european culture, beginning of technological revolution, trade and travel, diplomacy, ww2... Also USA abolished slavery more than 50 years after British empire did and since 1806, 7 or so british navy actively blocked slave ships from Africa trying to fix their mistakes. This reminded me of The life of Brian "what have the Romans ever done for us?". We are the product of history, we should come to terms with it. Nothing's black or white.

I think the indigenous populations of literally EVERYWHERE else in the world could have done without the exportation of European culture. And it doesn't matter what kind of "trying" they were doing in 1806, the genocidal "mistakes" that were made has had a lasting impact on the world that I am not sure we will ever recover from. We are a product of history, and understand how we got here is kind of like studying it... you know... the whole doomed to repeat line... Lastly, I am not vain enough to the the universe would be out of whack if I wasn't speaking English or didn't exist. Hell if the US had won the war of 1812, I might be have been a proud American. But they lost. Raw Raw Canada! Glad you enjoyed the video!

The main plot is developed between two factions: The assassins,the "good guys" who wants to keep the balance of the world,tough each game has a main character who each have personal interests and story aswell.They wield the hidden blade as their signature weapon as you saw in the trailer. The Templars are the "bad guys" who want to control the world trough subterfuge,manipulation and trough powerful artifacts that was left behind by a civilizitation before us. There's so much more to know but it's imposibble to sum up 13 years of story and lore into a comment.if you're interested there're a lot of trailers from previous AC games,I def. recommend them. :) Oh,the movie,that's a big NO-NO!

There's a lot of comments but at risk of repeating, in the Assassin's Creed clip you play as a Viking invading England around the late 800s. England was still separated into Wessex, Mercia, Northumbria and East Anglia. The person talking was Alfred the Great who led most of the fight against the Danes. That's the historical set up for the game although throughout the series there is a fictional 'hidden history' of an ancient war between the order of Templars (who wants control and domination for the sake of safety and enforced peace) and the Assassin's ( a group that believe in civil liberty and freedom from government control etc...) In most cases you play as an Assassin character.

The arena is an outdoors area, and a central building with multiple entrances, and floors. There are 3 game modes Hostage Scenario Bomb Scenario and Secure Area Every character has their own playstyles, armour, movement speeds, weapons, tools, and special gadgets. Who originally started as hostage rescue (for like nation leaders who were part of the UN) and later also became EOD experts as well; who would be sent in to disarm dirty bombs and nukes behind enemy lines. They are the top 1% of combat operatives from around the world. The game is kinda set up to be you playing an operator during training. Practicing hostage rescue/defence and planting/disarming bombs.

@@HannaHsOverInvested Well when you do its important to know that its a prequel to World of Warcraft. The Director of the movie Duncan Jones Played World of Warcraft before becoming a director and originally had planned on making 3 movies, however those last 2 are on hold because normal audiences had a hard time with all the lore the first movie throws at you. Before it was cut down it was 3 and a half hours but the studio made him cut it down to just over 2 hours. Wonderful movie though especially now that you have your foot in the door of the universe. On additional little tid bit that ties the movie to the games, the kings son in this movie is the father of the king in the Battle for Azeroth cinematics you have been watching

About AC Valhalla That's not even the British Empire, this game is set in IXth century, hundreds of years before British Empuire existed and even some years before England existed as a country, because in the game England is still dispersed into many small kingdoms And the guy narrating is not some ''bureaucrat'', it's king Alfred the Great, one of the best English kings and the first king of united England (although he achieves that after this game's story)

Assassin's Creed isn't a bad movie, but it isn't a good movie either. The game series is about a company that can use a person's DNA to basically view the life of an ancestor of that person in a computer simulation, to find how specific historical events happened or where items may be located. The movie incorporates some of the story and time period used in the 1st game, but uses a different central protagonist. Most Assassin's Creed games (the simulation part) takes place at different points in time. As Valhalla is about the Vikings vs The British Empire, the last one took place around the peloponnesian war in Greece. There is a central connecting storyline about the company that uses the DNA tech, and a war between the Assassin's guild and the Templars, that's present in each game as well.

I really hate this trend of showing Vikings and general Scandinavians as some sort of peaceful settlers and honorable, progressive warrior culture, especially while showing their victims as dark age barbarians. As an Assasin's Creed fan since the first game, and somebody that sank a hundred hours in AC 2 and AC Brotherhood, I hate this trailer. It made me not want to buy AC Valhalla. About Rainbow 6 Siege, the lore is that you are part of a international special tactics organization running hundreds of counter-terrorism training exercises. Ah, Assassin's Creed. The trailer for AC Valhalla is definitely coming partly from the "godless barbarians" kind of "evil savages" narrative contrasted with scenes of life for the Vikings. Beyond that can't say as to overall plot, if any details have dropped since I last looked. But from a quick Google it does look like you can play as a male or female version of the same character, Eivor. I'd say the series can be summed up as historical fiction/sci-fi action games with elements of stealth and lots of free climbing, more than what's often thought of as RPGs such as the Final Fantasy series (not going to even dig into various types of RPGs). The series started back in 2007, where you played as Desmond Miles (off and on briefly, in the present). And through a machine called the Animus, he was able to experience the genetic memories of his ancestors. Think full immersion deep dive VR, sorta. In that game, that ancestor would be the assassin, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad (1165 - 1257) and his struggles against the Templars seeking certain powerful ancient alien artifacts broadly called "Pieces of Eden," in their quest to control the world. The setting is basically around Jerusalem, Acre, and Damascus. Whereas Assassin's Creed II, Desmond, on the run from the Templars in present day, and relives the life of another ancestor from Italy, Ezio Auditore de Fierez (1459 - 1524), and Ezio's story continued in Brotherhood and Revelations. The series continues on with different characters past and present. Part of the fun, at least for me, beyond the story and characters that is, is exploring historical locations, and being able to climb about the various cities and landmarks and take in the sights. Anyone who's ever wanted to climb The Colosseum or pyramids, for example, totally possible in the game. Odyssey is probably my favorite (the most recent game before Valhalla), getting to choose who I wanted as protagonist helped, and Kassandra is so awesome and very well acted. The AC movie was... uh, I don't even know if it qualifies as bad good. XD
@HannaHsOverInvested4 жыл бұрын
hahah I will hope that its bad good! Thanks for sharing all that info!

It was the British empire who ended the slave trade. One of the main duties of the royal navy was to stop slave trading. Aswell as this, we spent that much money on freeing slaves the the UK didn't finish paying the debt until 2015. So keep your slander to yourself

It wouldn't have needed ending if it hadn't started. And as if you're trying to justify the attempted colonization of the entire world by saying the UK paid off slave owners. Come on man... for story these were kinda bad games to watch trailers for... while assassins creed certainly has one, the game is much more focused on its mechanics and rainbow siege is a multiplayer game. While these days, developers even try to shoehorn in story into multiplayer titles, which sometimes works, sometimes doesnt, I feel it is especially bad if you try to get the general gist of the stories out of trailers for these games. Now, story-heavy games like Last of Us or Life is Strange might also be hard to follow in trailers, but in general they make you excited for more of the characters and story. That being said, Beyond Good And Evil 2 had a few cool cinematics.
