9:27 "Rook" has GIGN written on his shoulder (as did 'Doc' and the ski mask guy that you mentioned earlier). The GIGN are elite French Gendarmerie officers and deal with counter-terrorism stuff (Gendarmerie are basically a national paramilitary police force that also act as soldiers in war time) and that scene where he gets shot in the body armour is actually the final step of GIGN training before you're inducted into the unit. All GIGN officers have to do it.

Another test they put you through (correct me if I'm wrong but I saw this on TV regarding SOCOM units) the GIGN are required to stay in a room for a week with a chicken that they are forced to name. They then have nothing but themselves and a chicken (so instinctively they play and bond with the chicken) after the week they are forced to kill the chicken and eat it. This is to demonstrate the importance of life and death and to desensitize them if they watch their friends die in the field. Its pretty hardcore but damn is that brutal.

This is really late, but the explanation of some of the vague operators is Montagne has Le Roc, an impenetrable full-body retracting shield. He's useful for mobile cover or pinging enemies. Mute deploys jammers to neutralize enemy electronics. Rook deploys ballistic plates for the rest of his team, reducing overall damage taken Pulse has a heartbeat scanner that can detect enemies up to around 10m Twitch attached a tazer to her drone. Castle deploys bullet-proof covers over doors to deny entry Kapkan places booby traps Bandit deploys car batteries to electrify reinforced walls and barbed wire Fuze deploys cluster charges, a wall-penetrating device that fires five explosive hockey pucks to the other side of the wall Smoke has throwable poison gas grenades, violating the Geneva convention 15:00 those two were Capitao and Caviera. Capitao has an asphyxiation and smoke launching crossbow, and Caviera is a stealth operator who can silence her movements and interrogate enemies, revealing their positions. 18:37 that's a Gu mine, a spring-loaded poison trap laid by Lesion. The roller under the door was a Candela, Ying's special flashbang grenades. It deploys like Fuze's charge or can be rolled and deploys five flash grenades where it lands. Ela deploys sticky concussion mines that disorient the victim temporarily, and Zofia, Ela's sister, has a concussion/impact grenade launcher. Vigil wears a ballistic mask and can become invisible to cameras Dokkaebi hacks cameras and sets off phoned with her tablet, revealing positions of nearby enemies Finka can boost her and her teammates' health, among other things with her nanomachine boost, and Lion has an unmanned aerial drone that when activated tracks movement through walls, buildings, etc and pings them in real time. Nomad deploys propulsion mines that launch enemies through walls Kaid deploys the Electroclaw, a gadget that functions the same as Bandit Mossie can hack enemy drones and takes them over, and Gridlock deploys Trax Stingers, a spike mine that expands over time. Warden has Google lenses that can see through smoke and negate flashbangs Nokk is Vigil but on offense instead of defense Amaru is budget spider-man, and Goyo deployes gas cans as booby traps Oryx is the dollar store Kool-Aid man, and Iana has a drone swarm crossed with a hologram. Ace is a search-and-rescue operator that has hydraulic pressure charges that breach walls with intense water pressure, and Melusi deploys microwave ovens that slow enemies down. Zero is Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell, aged up thirty years, and the leader of Team Rainbow. Mira deploys one-way bullet-proof windows and is the R&D leader Aruni deploys laser grids over doors and windows All in all, my favorite is Mozzie or Kapkan, Mozzie for his snarkiness and Kapkan because he's an alligator that always ends up being the last one standing. Also you absolutely want Rook on your team. He's the only reason I survive matches like 98% of the time. That little bit of armor is a lifesaver

If you're up for some context, Siege is basically a 5v5 tactical shooter with two teams, attackers and defenders. There's three game modes but the most important one is Bomb, where the attackers have to defuse one of two bombs on the map while the defenders have to stop them. Defenders can reinforce walls and hactches to make them bulletproof and can access the building's CCTV, going through cameras to spot the attackers and get an edge. Attackers have drones (two for each player) that they can throw around and control remotely. The drones look pretty much like the one you saw on Twitch's trailer, except for the shock part (that's Twitch's ability), can jump and are small enough to hide in little corners and go underneath those wooden doorframe reinforcements you saw on several trailers. What set Siege apart from other shooters at launch was it's somewhat realistic approach to gunfights and creativity in approaching the objective. Bullets go throught walls that have not been reinforced, so if you have intel on the position of the enemies on the other room, you can get some pretty crazy kills. One bullet to the head and you're dead, and no respawns too, so if you die, you're waiting until the next round. Also, for the operators whose gadgets were not so clear: Kaid (24:28) - he can throw those little claws at reinforced walls or hatches to electrify them. Nomad (23:59) - she can fire non-lethal, pressurized air mines that explode when an enemy gets near, launching them into the air. She's pretty funny to use in game. Pulse (10:46) - he can see people's heartbeats through walls (but can't use a gun while he's operating his gadget, unlike IQ).

For 2.5 days, terrorists held more than 1,100 hostages (mostly children, their parents and school staff) in a mined school building. So in the beginning, rainbow six siege was "kinda" realistic with the operators, their gadgets and weapons but as time passed on, they introduced some gadgets that were reoccurring but redesigned for new operators (which isn't good, because that's the only gadget they have) and it got somewhat ridiculous. But it's a good game nonetheless. Not as good as it once was tho, sadly.

Since you like these trailers, you'd probably like the nation trailers. They dropped them for the base game's upcoming release. There is a trailer for the FBI/SWAT, GIGN, GSG9, SAS, and Spetznaz..who each have 4 operators (2 defense 2 attacker). They show off the base operators in-game, so you can see what these people look like in-game.

the third one you watched is Fuze, his ability was the thing he had in his hand. he places it on a wall, it drills a small hole and shoots out 5 frag grenades through. his video doesn't do him justice 'cause if one of those goes off, everyone just runs away in fear. Thatcher has the EMP, Mute has signal jammer he puts on the floor (he also never talks). Smoke's gas is officially "compound Z8" some people believe it's Mustard Gas from the colour. These 3 plus Sledge makes up the SAS unit in the game. Oh and Pulse has a heart beat sensor, generally deploys it finds the heart beat then shoots where it is.

Omg same!! Ever since day one. I miss the old days when Kapkan traps got insta kills. I once got an ace and won the game as kap back then, in ranked, when I was last man standing. The attackers all decided to push objective at the same time and triggered all three traps simultaneously lol. He's been my fav ever since. Sledge was super fun too, I've got a lot of sneaky flank kills with him by smashing through random walls. 😏

And Timur Glazkov aka Glaz was inspired by Vasiliy Zaytsev, who was a soviet sniper during WW2 or even Shuhrat Kessikbayev aka Fuze, who was inspired by not a person but rather an event that took place at Moscow at 2002, known as Nord-Ost hostage crisis which known for lots of unpredicted civil casualties, and it's portrayed by Fuze in Hostage-Rescue missions. ''Fuzing'' hostage even became a local meme.

Great reaction guys! Here for you a little bit of explain for every operator, and for what they to in the game. I will split this in 2 parts cause it's sooo much first thing first, the game is a 5 vs 5 online competitive-cooperative tactic fps(first person shooting) game, where 5 players are the defenders of a location and the others are the attackers that must breach in and take the objective. The match finish when the objective is taken or all operators of one squad got killed. That been said there are difence operators (D) and attack operators (A), here they are: (A) IQ: GSG9 (German special agents), with her wrist gadget she can see all the electronic devices in the surroundings, even through several walls. (A) Blitz: GSG9, with his shield he can run straight in front of the enemy and flash the hell out of them eyes, effectively blinding them. (A) Fuze: Spetsnaz (Russian special agents), he can place his gadget to a wall or a floor and activate it later as a trap, causing it to shoot out several grenades to the other side of the wall (or directly by the ceiling in case of the floor), destroying and killing everything in the area. (A) Glaz: Spetsnaz, he has a special thermal sight on his sniper rifle, whitch can see the silouette of a person in millimetric precision. (A) Montagne: GIGN (France special agents), he has a massive bulletproof shield, and nothing can destroy it. He is the frontman and tank of a team. (A) Twitch: GIGN, she has a special scouting drone, whitch can zap gadgets and enemies, with the advantage of being little and fast. (A) Thermite: SWAT, (in the game there are soft walls, destructible by bullets or explosions, whitch can be reinforced with metal shutters) he has a special break-in charge that can bypass those metal reinforcements and get on the objective faster. (A) Ash: SWAT, she has a special grenade launcher whitch shoot a breach charge, whitch can easely destroy soft walls or floors\ceilings. (A) Tatcher: SAS (UK special agents), he has some EMP grenades that inabilitates enemies gadgets for a period of time (or destroy them, depend of he's been reworked or not) (A) Sledge: SAS, ....... HAMMER TIME. Can hammer soft walls and destroy them with a single swing. (D) Bandit: GSG9, he can electify reinforced metal walls, so that Thermite gadget or similar cannot be placed. (D) Jager: GSG9, he can place miniaturized Tank Active Defence Systems on walls or floor so that grenades or similar get caught before explosions (for instance, Fuze grenades). (D) Tachanka: Spetsnaz, THE LORD. PRAISE THE LORD. He once has that massive placeable machine-gun, now if i'm correct he has a grenade launcher that shoot incendiary grenades all over the place. (D) Kapkan: Spetsnaz, he can place traps on doorsteps or windows with a barely visible laser "string". If trigghered, it explodes. (D) Rook: GIGN, he can provide his squad with special armor plates that improve all squad defence by a lot. (D) Doc: GIGN, he has a pistol that shoots syringes whitch can heal or revive himself or a squadmate. (D) Pulse: SWAT, with his gadget he can see heartbeats in a medium-short distance, even through walls. (D) Castle: SWAT, he can reinforce doorways and windows with special bulletproof mats that can be destroyed almost only by an explosion. (D) Mute: SAS, he can place a special gadget on the floor, whitch can deactivate every electronic device in the immediate surroundings. (D) Smoke: SAS, he can place special gas canisters whitch can be blown up as a trap, and release a toxic gas, whitch can be even lethal. (A) Buck: JTF2 (Canadian special agents), he has a special set of weapons, and all of them have an underbarrel shotgun. This shotgun can destroy enemies and walls in equals efficiency. (D) Frost: JTF2: she use her bear traps to inabilitates enemies and to stop them in place. They cannot free themselves on theyr own, another squadmate must save them. (A) Blackbeard: Navy Seal, as you saw, he can place a glass bulletproof shield on the gun, preventing to being hit directly on the head (in the game, headshot is a one-shot-one-kill mechanic) (D) Valkyrie: Navy Seal, she can place little, almost invisible, cams all over the place, whitch can be essential in almost every moment of the match. (A) Capitao: BOPE (Brazil special agents), he has a modern crossbow that can shoots either smoke gas, or incendiary arrows. (D) Caveira: BOPE, she can stealth like no other and become silent as a dead, incapacitate an operator and interrogate him/her to know exactly the current positions of his/her squadmates. (A) Hibana: SAT (Japanese special agents), she use her Kairos breach charges to make either little or big holes on reinforced metal walls. (D) Echo: SAT, he can use his special drone, Yokai. This drone can go around, get placed in a fixed position on the ceiling and become almost invisible. In this stance the operator can shoot an acoustic stunning blast with the drone.

(D) Mira: GEO, She can deploy a bulletproof glass window on soft AND reinforced walls. it's a one-way window, so she can see you, but you cannot see her behind it. She (or anyone, even with a gadget such as Twitch zap drone) can open up the window permanently from the inside, allowing line of fire and vision. (A) Ying: SDU (Chinese special unit), she can throw a sofisticated flashbang. it is a spheric-like gadget so for istance it can roll under a door and blow up inside. Once it blow up, launch on the air several flashbangs that flash everyone in a large range. the gadget can be even be positioned on a soft wall or a floor with a timer, and it will blow up after few seconds on the other side of such wall or floor. She has also special glasses designed for her flashbangs, so that she can burst inside alongside the flashes, without being flashed. (D) Lesion: SDU, he can place little traps on the floor. these traps are traslucents, almost invisible. if an enemy step on them, he got intoxicated. the toxin slows him down, inflict damage over time, disturbs a little his vision and destroy Finka's nanobots, denying theyr boost (she is a little bit further on on the list). the only way to avoid to take too much damage is to estract the toxin syringe from your leg with an animation. (A) Zofia: GROM (Polish special agents), she has a grenade launcher that shoots either stun or impact grenades. Impact ones can destroy soft walls too. (D) Ela: GROM, she can place traps whitch release an acoustic blast that stuns enemies, when trigghered. (A) Dokkaebi: 707th SMB (Sud-corean special agents), she can hack the telephone network and make enemy phones ring with a virus, so that you can know if there is one around. If she found a dead enemy, she can also hack his phone directly to get access to all enemy cams. (D) Vigil: 707th SMB, he can activate his gadget and make himself invisible to all enemy cams or drones. (A) Finka: CBRN Spetsnaz (Special Spetsnaz unit, biological weapons experts), she can provide herself and all her squadmates with nanobots that gives them an adrenaline boost in a specific moment of need. They boost your speed, recoil control, health, and if you're incapacitate, can revive you (such as doc does). (A) Lion: CBRN Spetsnaz, he has a special big drone flying in the sky. This "big brother" can be activated to detect every enemy that moves in the entire map, for some seconds. (D) Alibi: GIS (Italian special agents), she can place her holograms all over the place. The ologram is identical to the original operator, so if she stay perfectly still, you cannot recognize whitch one is the real one, in the middle of the action. If an Hologram get shot, for some seconds the person whose shots the holo get detected on the map. (D) Maestro: GIS, he can place his special bulletproof cam, Evil eye, on the walls or the floor. The cam can be used by remote control to open up and shoot electric zapping projectiles that can be lethal. The cam can be destroyed only by an explosion, or if you shoot right in the centre when it open up to fire. (D) Clash: MPS (UK special crowd control unit), she has a big bulletproof shield that can electrify enemies, doing damage and slowing them down. (A) Maverick: The Unit (American other special units), he has a blowtorch, that can make little holes in reinforced metal walls, even if electrified. Best tactic is to make a little hole and shoot directly from there. (A) Nomad: GIGR (Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie), she can shoot little traps with an underbarrel launcher. When trigghered, they release an air blast that knock down enemies for a couple of seconds. (D) Kaid: GIGR, similar to Bandit, he has those electrified claws that can be attached to the walls to electrify reinforced metal walls. There are trap doors in the game that can be reinforced too, preventing enemies to breach down by the ceiling, if you are in a room below them. Kaid Claw can be trown directly on the reinforced ceiling trap door to electrify it from the defence site. (D) Warden: American Secret Service, he has special glasses. Those glasses allow him to see through smoke and to not be flash by flashbangs or by Blitz shield. (A) Nokk: Jaeger Corps (Danish special forces), she has a device that can reduce her movement noise, and that make her almost invisible to defenders cams (almost like Vigil). scary AF. (A) Gridlock: SASR (Australian special units), she can deploy a mat trap, that expand and take place in the entire room. if someone step on the mats takes damage and gets slowed down. (D) Mozzie: SASR, he can place little trap-drones that can capture enemies little scout drones (even Twitch one). Then, Mozzie can use every scout drone he capture in such way. (A) Amaru: APCA (Argentine special amphibious units), She has a frickin grappling hook. She can yeet herself in a window and either kill everyone or get killed in a matter of seconds. (D) Goyo: FES (Mexican Navy special forces), in the game as a defender you can have a secondary gadget, such as a bulletproof deployable metal shield. Goyo has special ones, with a flammable canister attached to them. The canister can explode with an incendiary effect, with an enemy explosion, or simply if goyo shoot the canister in a moment of need. (A) Kali: Nighthaven (Private military company), she has a massive sniper rifle, can oneshot almost everyone (it's a little bit OP), and it has an underbarrel launcher that shoots little breach charges, whitch can make little holes even on electrified reinforced walls. (D) Wamai: Nighthaven, he can place little devices that, in a certain range, can capture big projectiles and grenades, distracting them from their original path. (D) Oryx: N/A, he can charge with his entire body and go straight through soft walls, or enemies, knockbacking them. If the target is a wall, he gets a bunch of self-damage too. (A) Iana: REU (I really dunno what this is, but she is in the fucking space bro, she is a badass), she can create a hologram copy of herself in the battlefield with some little drones. the copy can move and she can see through it. if got shot, drones disperse and the copy falls. (A) ACE: Nighthaven, he has a special breach charge whitch he can throw on a reinforced wall, it attach and gradually unrolls down, and he can blow it up when he want, making big or little holes as needed. (D) Melusi: ITF (Sud-African special forces (I think?)), she can place gadgets on the walls or the floor, when an enemy pass by a certain range, the gadget "scream" and slows them down massively. the gadget is also bulletproof. (A) Zero: CIA (he is Sam Fisher, protagonist of the renomated Tom Clancy's series "Splinter Cell". Raimbow six is Tom Clancy's too), he can deploy a little cam on a wall or a ceiling/floor. the cam can see to either side of those, actively changing position by the operator command, and it can zap once an enemy or enemy gadget. (D) Aruni: Nighthaven, she can place a laser grid on doorways. those lasers don't allow trespassing. if an enemy pass in them, get immediatly detected on map and take burn damage. Also she has a prostetic metallic arm whitch can make holes in soft walls. (A) Flores: N/A, he has a bomb-like drone, whitch, when deployed on the ground, goes foreward and can jump at operator command. if it attach at a soft wall, it can explode and destroy it. Now, i know that there are others operators, but i don't play this game anymore, so my knowledge ends here.
