The Oregon Prescription Drug Affordability Board (PDAB) was created through Senate Bill 844 (2021) and is committed to protecting residents of Oregon, state and local governments, commercial and employer health plans, health care providers, pharmacies licensed in Oregon, and other constituent groups within the health care system from the high costs of prescription drugs. After the passing of Senate Bill 192 (2023), the Board was charged with developing a plan for establishing an upper payment limit (UPL) for drugs sold in the state of Oregon that are subject to affordability reviews.
The PDAB partnered with Myers and Stauffer LC to assist with the identification of approaches to establishing UPLs for some high-cost prescription drugs. The PDAB is committed to informing its recommendations through constituent feedback. The board held 16 meetings with eight constituent groups in May, June and July 2024. The board also held five community forums across the state, as well as two online meetings for consumers in April and May 2024.
